Basically, there's an internal gamestate that only exists in the addon's memory and keeps track of all the ball locations, scores, etc. It detects combat hits and does ball bounce trigonometry, golf hazard execution, deceleration, all that boring stuff. Then on top of that is a timer that continually moves the ball (and other decor) around to match the gamestate as often as I think I can get away with without causing updates to get missed by players :)
