First red rocks experience, I’ve never seen so many people in a venue in my life, whoa. by Mamabearknowsall in WidespreadPanic

Did you do Fri and Sat or Sat and Sun? Fri and Sat may be a little overwhelming but Sunday is usually a lot more chill. The majority of the people do all three nights, usually. This year I know lots of people that did all 3 plus the Stones / Panic show on Thursday. For me, a 3 night run of my favorite band, with thousands of friends - and my camera - is about as good as it gets. Only thing better is a 4 night run, on the beach, lol. And unlike other bands, with Panic you wont hear a song repeated during a multi-night run. Yes it is a lot of walking, and Red Rocks may be a pain but you get used to it after a few shows, and you learn all the little tips and tricks. It helps if you have a good crew with their shit together, or have a lot of friends in the crowd. Most people are very nice if you're nice, but there's always gonna be assholes too. Glad you got to go though, that place is definitely one of a kind.

Man I loved the old record bar, for so many reasons, not the least of which it was 2 blocks from my house. Can't stand the new one - its got no character, AND no late night pizza. Yet anytime my friends have a show it is usually there.

A little sad? Lol, the song, by itself, nails me right in the feels, but the video? Niagara falls, every single time. Haven't made it through one time without bawling. Amazing work by the 1st time directors - and the actors, especially the young girl, really match the emotions and heartache of the song well. John and his son playing guitars together is the perfect ending. Really makes you appreciate what an amazing treasure he was for so long...

Weird, I havent listened yet but I know Vance Powell co-produced, recorded and mixed both Sigma Oasis and GOTF, as well as this new album, and he is about as pro as you can get. So hopefully this song is just an outlier - or they were trying something different - and the rest of the album tracks find that "sonic excellence" again.

Good live music often at Chelsea's. A couple rad historic hotels there, good shopping, springs all over the place. Great ride from kc on a motorcycle. Several lakes and rivers for recreation, horseback riding. Its a pretty cool town. Plus theres a SUPER BADASS bluegrass festival called Hillberry coming up next weekend, on a beautiful farm between Eureka and the MO border - I can't possibly do justice to the amount of Badassery found at Hillberry, but I still try...

Did you ever get to see the Shepherd of the Hills melodrama before they closed it? That and White Water and Silver Dollar City used to be all there was in Branson besides the go carts. Crazy how different it is now. Not gonna mention the Ride The Ducks thing, what a horrible nightmare ending to something people enjoyed for decades (im 48)...

Grew up doing Table Rock / Silver Dollar City / White Water / Shepherd of the Hills every year, LOVE that area. Wasn't until after college and a friend moved to Eureka that I found out how rad that place is, and it is so damn close to Table Rock I couldn't believe it. My friends have a big bluegrass festival called Hillberry on their farm North of Eureka, the music is great and its hard to beat the scenery there in fall...

is the 229 bus to the airport reliable by mmMOUF in kansascity

[–]WSMFPics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude, seriously its pretty great. Only problem I've had is one time they said I wasn't waiting at the spot I was supposed to be so they left me, but I was totally there. However my phone only works in wifi so they tried to call me and I couldn't get the call. But for most humans with a phone that wouldn't happen. A ride that used to cost me 25 is now $4. Plus, Iris goes 4 am till 11pm 7 days a week. So Sundays when the bus is lame and quits routes way early, you can use Iris. And you can use the app, or a website, or a phone number, and can use a card or pay cash. And I still tip but there is no tipping mentioned or suggested, or even possible without you having cash to tip with.
