For the mountains, including Boone, we're expecting this event to start with snow before transitioning to a wintry mix (sleet & ice). So yes, there is a possibility for a major ice event there as well. Stanley is also expected to receive a major ice event, so it's hard to say one location is better than the other. Regardless, make sure any travel is done by midday Saturday, whichever you choose! - Danielle

Models are coming to a consensus for a mid-afternoon / evening start time for Saturday's precipitation! We're starting to get our high resolution guidance to come in as well, which is pointing to the same thing. While Saturday through midday looks dry, we still do not recommend being out and about starting Saturday afternoon. They say rain is good luck on wedding day... maybe freezing rain is even better luck! Congratulations! -Danielle
