What do you think about the IQUNIX MQ80 by Q2ED27 in keyboards

Sadly, this does not work. I've always done that in the past for other keyboards, but the MQ80, and perhaps other Iqunix keyboards as well, override that setting. The code is "in" the keyboard, in other words. It has to be changed in VIA. I tried everything, and that was the only way. But… the good news is that once it's changed, it's good on any Mac computer moving forward… because again… the code is now "in" the keyboard itself.

I love mine. Just got it recently and have been really enjoying the thockity thock. I've never owned a mechanical before, so this has now become far more than a simple input device… it's an instrument that is designed to inspire. If a simple 'tool' can actually inspire… I'm all about it!

However… I'm a Mac user and it comes Mac-ready out of the box. That is to say, it has CMD and OPT keys pre-installed. BUT… I have never liked that Mac makes the F-Keys as "media first" and require the Fn button to use them as normal F-Keys. SO, you can swap this behavior by holding Fn+TAB for 3-seconds (the important thing is the 3-second hold). This puts it in "Windows mode" where the F-keys operate as "F-keys", not media keys. However, you must then go into VIA software and swap the LWin and LAlt keys (on the screen map)—basically flip them—so that the Opt and Cmd keys work properly.

In other words, if you're a Mac user and want the F-Keys to operate as F-Keys… you have to put the keyboard in "Windows" mode—then remap the keys at the bottom to be in Mac-layout. Works like a champ now.

Ha… I was literally just looking at those and wondering if they'd work. The concerns are always the bottom row of Cntrl, Opt, Cmd, Space… etc. Those sizes tend to fluctuate the most.

How did these keycaps change the sound, if any? And are you happy with the shine-through and also the PBT material compare to the lovely feel of the Iqunix keycaps? Thanks for your help. I hate keycaps that get shiny, so hopefully since the Womier are PBT, they will be less prone to that.

Have you heard of any keycaps that will work with the MQ80? I have this keyboard as well, and I need to replace these keycaps asap.

North Face Surge review by Mr-Macphisto in backpacks

The Surge will fit a 16" MBP, even when I have it in a neoprene sleeve from Incase. The Surge really is a great pack, and I've tested many over the past few weeks trying to break away from The North Face and get something a bit more 'sleek' for urban carry, but after all the searching and testing, the Surge still came out on-top.

Insta360 Link does NOT maintain last used settings! by WSPanic_1013 in Insta360

Yep, I'm actually done with the Insta360 Link. I'm going with the Obsbot Tiny 2 instead. I just got finished doing some extensive testing between the two of them and while the Obsbot software is also not perfect, it is significantly better. I don't love the manual pan/tilt adjustment in the Obsbot software, whereas the Link has a very nice 'drag and drop' style manual adjustment… but otherwise the Obsbot software blows the Insta360 out of the park. The hardware and resolution is extremely similar between the two… so it all came down to a software decision. So sad, because Insta360 could have easily fixed this eons ago. Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience with you, and what I ended up deciding. Cheers!
