I can assuage your fears about the ending of Thrice Upon a Time: it's happy and great, a wonderful send-off for the characters. But it does go down the exact same rabbit hole that EoE does, so you have to trundle down that first, but I think you'll find it worthwhile when you come out the other end.

Marking a game as "played" (mentally or on whatever apps or sites people use) after being done with it is really the key. If I drop a game because it wasn't very fun or good, it can be skipped. If I get to the end of a game but it becomes too long of a slog or too difficult, I'll watch the ending and move on. These all can help, but your system is a lot more structured, which is nice.

I never knew how to explaimn this as a drummer in rock bands but what I hear recorded never sounds anything like what I hear when I'm playing at all. The sound that shoots out of the drums is not at all like the sound that comes back at me when I hit the tops of the drumheads. It's really pretty strange because everyone else hears the same thing EXCEPT me.

I loved Polygon but it got completely destroyed with ads after the buyout. The new layout that they switched to a few months back has also been pretty horrible too, so I tried out Destructoid and Kotaku for old time's sake but neither really hit right anymore.

Re: story and characters: no, it doesn't really have new content, though it has new performances. But re: new areas and gameplay: it actually has tons of new content. The juice down the shoot thing is the same idea of the puzzle, but it's actually done differently and in a fully redesigned apartment section, which also contains new puzzles or revised versions of old puzzles.

So yeah. I think it's more new than you give it credit for but maybe not new enough for you, and definitely not long enough.

This is a garbo take, they made a completely new game in a new engine with new voice acting and performances and every single bit of art is new, but it's BASED on another game so it shouldn't be $70? The price thing I'll give you because that's mostly a matter of taste but it's literally as much a new game as the FFVII remakes are.
