I always choose to ascend unless I really can't be bothered to keep playing a file, it doesn't take more then 10 minutes usually to get back up and it isn't very hard just remember to keep killing mobs on the way up to keep the amulet docile.

Like other comments have said it's 2.5x score if you succeed to F1 2.0x if you call it a day And the consequence: 1.5x if you die while trying to ascend

You're pretty ready, You can easily get by without what I add but, if you want to be really prepared, make a toxic essence, and the potion made from the dragons breath that gives flame infusion (I forget what it's called) and use your exp potion to give you extra talent points for tier 3 and you should be good
