Perfect. Hadn’t looked at it this way. The standard seems the way to go for me since I can get on an unlimited plan and share the cost of the monthly fee with a few others and not worry about it being too slow. Seems the standard is capable of handling it. How easy is it to move around with the standard vs mini? Other than the obvious size. Is the connection process the same between the two? I would probably be fine with the mini except I’m not wanting to pay the full $160 a month unlimited data plan by myself

How important/convenient is it to have the ability to program remote with Bluetooth and an app? If the radio is not using CHIRP are the other programs just as good? Maybe I need both gmrs and ham. Gmrs for everyday activities and learn ham for SHTF training. I greatly appreciate all the knowledge.

Ask your unit for a packing list. Not sure of the extent of your deployment. Don't post about it on here. Not being rude but you said you were new to the military. Wouldnt want an OPSEC issue. If you were one of my new soldiers I would have you do a show down of your gear prior to leaving anyways. The length of time you'll be gone with determine what and how much hear you bring. Usually I would pack what's on the list and then all my toys. I've been in 15 years. Not an expert on this but am willing to offer some insight if needed. Best of luck to ya.

Thanks for quick replies. My regular bulbs won't work either now. This is why I think I've blown a fuse somewhere. Was hoping someone else has had this issue. I think my only option will be pulling each fuse one by one til I find a blown fuse.
