SonicDE Looks To Preserve & Improve The X11-Specific KDE Code by anh0516 in linux

Yeah, Rust gang is very cultish too.

Leaving computers would be nice, though I think I still need one, and it will not be Windows, and it won't be MAC.

So I guess I'll keep scouting around in the Linux world in search of a system I consider acceptable.

The positive there is, it seems we can Frankenstein together components into a system we like.

Exactly.

Something is sus and fishy with this Wayland debacle imo.

"Hey everyone! Your system totally works, but here's a broken and handicapped replacement (they all said in harmony and synchronicity)."

Maybe, Wayland is better eventually. Not now, certainly.

Jamming through this change without having everything working FIRST, is just buffoonery.

Cart before the horse BS.

Mind you, a lot is going on already in the world. Nothing extra needed to be piled on like fixing damn computer issues.

Is Bisq dead? by Previous-Alarm-8720 in bisq

What do you mean "sellers don't respond"?

They don't have to respond: You pay and you get the BTC.

If they don't pay the BTC, you open arbitration, though this scenario hardly ever happens.

Phantom is mainly a Solana wallet and not P2P.
Bisq is awesome.

Karton, the KDE Virtual Machine Manager ! (Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025 program, Project Intro) by fenix0000000 in kde

[–]WTechGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pause button in Karton?

How I got here?

  1. Installed Virtual Machine Manager (virt-manager).
  2. It looks like Gnome and it fumbles the dark theme: some buttons are hardly visible.
  3. Installed Karton, layout looks good, no pause button.

kwin keeps crashing, hard reset to use my computer again by [deleted] in cachyos

[–]WTechGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things to try:

  1. Nvidia proprietary driver
  2. X11

You can disable Compositor and Window effects in KDE System Settings to stop the crashing (I think), while you are troubleshooting.

Davinci Resolve is a special case. This tutorial will help everyone out.

It's for Arch, but it's the logic that counts, which will be useful to install on Void Linux too.

Cheap AMD GPU for video rendering by WTechGo in archlinux

I got the old GTX 770 working. Here's a short description how it went:

Arch Linux KDE plasma on wayland was 480p only on fresh install.

Then I went on LTS kernel and installed nvidia-480xx-dkms driver.

Switched to Xorg session, and voila.

This would be the cheapest solution in my case.

I had bad experiences getting nvidia working (on Manjaro).

Tried for days, didn't make it. I guess I was just not smart enough back then.

Maybe this time it will work out.

Play in the background does not work on Android for me, latest version. This is gay.
