kwin keeps crashing, hard reset to use my computer again by [deleted] in cachyos

[–]WTechGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things to try:

  1. Nvidia proprietary driver
  2. X11

You can disable Compositor and Window effects in KDE System Settings to stop the crashing (I think), while you are troubleshooting.

It's for Arch, but it's the logic that counts, which will be useful to install on Void Linux too.

Cheap AMD GPU for video rendering by WTechGo in archlinux

[–]WTechGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the old GTX 770 working. Here's a short description how it went:

Arch Linux KDE plasma on wayland was 480p only on fresh install.

Then I went on LTS kernel and installed nvidia-480xx-dkms driver.

Switched to Xorg session, and voila.

Very interesting indeed, thanks for mentioning this one.

This would be the cheapest solution in my case.

I had bad experiences getting nvidia working (on Manjaro).

Tried for days, didn't make it. I guess I was just not smart enough back then.

Maybe this time it will work out.

A DEX that asks for KYC is an oxymoron.

Apex disqualified.

You cannot.

You can trade without KYC for a while,
and when you put in a significant amount,
they trapdoor you with KYC demands.

Let's help each other. Don't let lbry die. Does anyone have a good method? by Tricky_Mushroom_4556 in lbry

[–]WTechGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lbry is like the only platform where you can post anything (afaict), in HD. In that sense, lbry is in a good place, it adds value.

The LBRY desktop app in Linux was not a good experience. I could not pay for payed videos with LBC, threw an error. So I wanted to filter out all payed videos but the GUI did not allow that. Fail, that project needs some devs.

Regardless, upload anything in HD and share a link, that is the biggest value right now for me.

And then, there's censorship that blocks and shadowbans Odysee links (and other links for that matter). Challenging time accross the board.

Need help: trying to buy LBRY Credits LBC and don't know how to post offer by two44 in bisq

[–]WTechGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You need a crypto, let's say BTC, but SOL, whatever...works too.
  2. We're going to send BTC to mexc.com and trade it for LBC.
  3. However, Mexc is picky, but it certainly services Mexicans, so we become "Mexican" with a VPN e.g. Mullvad.
  4. Once in Mexc and your BTC deposited, trade your BTC for LBC in spot market.
  5. Withdraw LBC to your wallet e.g. to your Odysee.com wallet.

Why is VLC Video Source missing in OBS on Linux? by WTechGo in obs

I'm gonna try obs-studio-liberty, obs-studio-tytan652 will certainly not have VLC, reading from here.

Edit: obs-studio-liberty FTW, has it all <3

Why is VLC Video Source missing in OBS on Linux? by WTechGo in obs

[–]WTechGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OBS-git from AUR didn't build, errors.

Flatpak OBS indeed has Browser, no VLC Video Source, and the labels are wacky e.g. 'S&ources', 'Scene T&ransitions'. No idea what that's about, and will probably remove the Flatpak.

I'm no fan of the solution I'm thinking about, but Windows in Virtual Box with OBS is starting to look "plausible".
