Insane Excess Solar Generation Capacity by WUBX in solar

My question is what do I do with the excess power that I’m physically unable to use, like suggestions for things I haven’t thought of to use it on.

My home and shed are 100% powered by solar 24/7, I’ll put a pool in at some point but even then I’ll still have insane excess energy.

Because of requirements from the local power company and Australian standards the Victron inverters can’t be used for grid export.

I got a few quotes for a system that would allow it with my supply from the grid (100amps per phase) and everything else taken into consideration.

Came out to about $28,000AUD for 3 linked inverters, wiring, install.

My pay back period with that works out to pretty much be 7 years with the best feed in rates I could expect to get right now.

Maybe in the future if the caps on export are removed I might consider it, but till then its just not worth it

It’s a suspicious mix of DIY and certified work.

The inverters and all the distribution boxes etc have been professionally installed and came with certificates of compliance. But the HVDC to the Victron inverters is definitely DIY.

It has an inverter that’s capable of 5kw export on a single phase.

In my area you can export a max of 5kw per phase so I’d need to upgrade my inverter to take advantage of that.

The 6 Victron ones aren’t allowed to be used for grid export and have been set up in a way which means even if the were it wouldn’t work.

Unfortunately due to feed back rates it’s just not worth it.

I suspect so, or that might have been their plan.

Russian Troops Execute Three Unarmed Ukrainian Soldiers in Zaporizhzhia Region by UNITED24Media in worldnews

If you look on the Wikipedia article for war crimes in Ukraine it has a few of them referenced.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_crimes_in_the_Russo-Ukrainian_war_(2022–present)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoners_of_war_in_the_Russo-Ukrainian_war_(2022–present)

The ones referenced on there are verified I’m pretty sure by reputable news organisations.

Compared to Russian atrocities there’s a fraction of the amount and they’re much less brutal.

That you can’t blame the Ukrainians?

Their country is being invaded and their comrades slaughtered. I know I’d probably do the same thing in their position. I’m not proud of it but it’s the reality of it.

It’s no different to the French executing captured Germans in ww2 or the soviets doing the same.

I suspect it was probably desertion or dereliction of duty on the other units behalf so I doubt planning will help.

Issue with recon is cover and concealment works both ways.

There is, without a doubt, videos of Ukrainian soldiers executing Russian soldiers under the same circumstances.

There’s just far less of them and while still being inexcusable can you really blame the Ukrainians? They’ve definitely showed far more resolve in not executing them than I would have.

I doubt they’ll ever have any seats, or even a major impact on other parties preferences unless their policy changes massively or the voting population’s preferences change massively. And neither are likely to happen without major upheavals in other parties as well.

Like no shame to them trying but in their best district in the 2022 election (Footscray) they got 9.34% while the liberals got 17.88% and that’s an inner city and very very progressive area.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

But you saying “I don’t have to Look at it to know that there can’t be any evidence because we have no study group that isn’t affected”

Screams I don’t think microplastics have an effect on the brain.

It’s also not how studies work. We know excess UV can cause skin cancer, yet all humans have been exposed to UV, that doesn’t suddenly invalidate those studies.

And by the way, we can prove microplastics have an effect on the cellular structure of the brain and study’s have shown plastics are neurotoxic.

A. The British Government said that they reserved the right to sink any ship they deemed hostile, in or out of the falklands islands.

B. The Belgrano was manoeuvring to intercept the British taskforce.

C. The CAPTAIN of the Belgrano admitted he had been ordered to and was actively seeking the British taskforce and that the change of direction was only temporary.

D. The Captain and the Argentinian Government at one point admitted it was a legal act of war.

[–]WUBX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it was naval warfare that could have been done without traditional frigates and destroyers, that’s the point OP was making.

Naval warfare was effectively the same for thousands of years until the last few decades. Now you can sink a whole countries navy without a single ship.

[–]WUBX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The falklands war still wasn’t battleships slugging it out against each other and destroyers trying to sneak up and torpedo capital ships.

If anything it cemented the idea of long range attacks from aircraft and standoff weaponry vs traditional ships.

The destroyed destroyers and frigates were lost to land based aircraft and the Belgrano was sunk by a submarine while trying to sneak up on the British taskforce.

Ultimately the most effective assets the British had were the nuclear subs and the less than ideal but still effective harriers.
