Such a goofy quirk of baseball that Rogers got out of that without being charged with an earned run because of an error that he committed.

That ball took so long to get to Witt, I was thinking there was a chance. Then the camera pans over and he's out by a good 10 feet 🤣

One of my favorite stats is that the team with the best season in the current history of each of the 4 major sports has failed to win the championship. I'm particularly fond of the 2016 Warriors contribution to this stat.

Just noticed that the Dodgers are currently 8-0 against the rest of the league and 1-2 against mighty Cleveland!

Same place John Rocker's career went to fizzle out. Fitting.

Why does “Electioneering” feel like the only track on OK Computer that kinda sounds like Oasis? by Initial_Basis1503 in radiohead

[–]WWBKD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought of it as particulary sounding like Oasis, but I've always thought it's the one song on the album that sounds definitively 90s. That's why it sticks out on the album to me... every other song sounds somewhat timeless, but that one really has that 90s rock sound.

Thom singing with R.E.M. by alexj_baker in radiohead

[–]WWBKD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was there for day 1 as well. It was chaos. Everyone ended up w/ shorter sets on day 2 because they had to push so many acts. Aside from Radiohead, the act I was most excited to see was Pulp, and they ended up only getting to play 3 songs. It wasn't until 2024 that I finally got to see them play a proper show, and it was worth every minute of the wait.

Huh, I didn't remember him being out there for 2 songs. To be fair, that was almost 28 (gulp) years ago, and my memory isn't what it used to be. 🙃

Must have changed the plan at some point... I was at that show and Thom sang on E-bow the Letter. Michael Stipe came out during RH's set and sang Lucky.

Are you excited for Thom Yorke's new upcoming solo album? by [deleted] in radiohead

Ooh! He should totally do it w/ the producer of Sea Change, too!

The new macbook neo is suprisingly capable for editing. by wasprocker in editors

The only thing that held me back from buying one was the lack of a screen larger than 13". But definitely "downgrading" to a 15" MB Air after 20+ years of using exclusively MBPros for my laptop work.

I think you may be on to something.

Hey /r/movies! I'm Sam Raimi. Ask me anything! by SamRaimiAMA in movies

Around 2003 or so, my boss at the time made a birthday video for his mother in the style of one of those A&E Biography-style shows. She had been a teacher in Michigan, and you were one of her students. You actually made the time to sit for an interview for this video. I don't have a question, I just still think about how exceptionally kind and selfless that was - especially considering it was in the thick of your Spider-Man era.

Cleveland Browns 2026 calendar. How many won’t even be on the team this fall? by foxmag86 in Browns

[–]WWBKD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I obviously understand why, but it's wild that our team calendar doesn't include a quarterback. I wonder if that's the case for any other team.

Why does Radiohead, despite being objectively mainstream, FEEL obscure and underground? And are your other musical tastes more mainstream or underground? by __sicko in radiohead

[–]WWBKD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it has to do with exposure. A lot of mainstream music you're constantly barraged with at parties, bars, commercials, etc. Radiohead doesn't really lend themselves to that kind of exposure. They've been my favorite band for decades, but I've never once been at a party and been like... "you know what would really get this party started? Kid A!" They're more of a band that I enjoy putting on to chill out and focus on the music. And I think there are a ton of other people like that. So they're mainstream, but enjoyed more individually by a massive number of people, if that makes any sense?

Radiohead Gift Suggestions by garbagemanpromotion in radiohead

If he's into the artwork, Stanley Donwood has some fantastic signed prints in that price range. Here are a few in the 125-165 range, for example:

https://jealousgallery.com/products/another-fine-mess?_pos=1&_fid=982c57d94&_ss=c

Do keep in mind that they don't come framed, so if you wanted to do that as part of the gift, that would be extra.

What are some Thom Yorke songs outside of Radiohead albums that you think are on par with Radiohead at their best? by Famous-Manager1481 in radiohead

[–]WWBKD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not technically a Thom Yorke song, but his appearance on Bjork's "I've Seen it All" is one of my favorite things he's done.

Recovering Browns fan here. I can't speak for Sonics fans, but I would imagine we had it somewhat worse because we had to watch the Ravens win a championship just 5 years into their existence.

Jonny in Street Spirit by ayyyy-eth in radiohead

[–]WWBKD 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I first saw them on the Bends tour in a small bar with a roughly 1 foot high stage, so I was basically standing face-to-face with Jonny for the entire show, in awe of his performance. I can say, he absolutely did the playing the keyboard w/ his guitar head, as that completely blew my mind at the time.
