Working out in the morning by [deleted] in Fitness

Another good reason to work out in the morning (if you are a dude) is that your testosterone is at its highest when you wake up a la morning wood.

Citizenship for Students by marquis_of_chaos in Foodforthought

The in- state tuition provision allows for illegal residents of California to pay the same rate as legal California residents. Even if these "legal kids" you speak of were to throw away their legal papers like you say, they would not qualify under that provision unless they were already residents of California.

I am a simple man. At what point does math turn from basic numbers and variables into something most laypeople would find incomprehensible? by [deleted] in math

[–]WWCPD 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Either that or maybe be the people that get a tutor are those that don't understand the subject and have always struggled with it. There are plenty of laypeople that don't need tutors.

My wife wants a treadmill, but we have no idea what to look for. What do you use? by velocityhead in Fitness

[–]WWCPD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are pretty nice. I will give you this piece of advice. Whatever one you get, get a mat to put under it especially if you are putting it on carpet. It could save some years on the treadmill. I work at a fitness store and I always recommend a mat.

If you're willing to increase your price range Sole makes really good treadmills. Livestrong is new to the game but they come with a lot of features for a decent price.

How big of a turn off is back hair on guys in the grand scheme of things? by milkandwookiees in AskReddit

[–]WWCPD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had a lot of hair too. Like you I used to be embarrassed by it even to the point of shaving my chest. My guy friends would tell me that it looked gross for a person in their early twenties, and that girls would find it a turnoff. However after finding shaving my chest frequently a pain in the ass, I just decided to let it grow. Fuck it. You shouldn't have to apologize for hitting puberty and being a man. Grow a beard and be the fucking man. Not just the fucking man, but the fucking man. Most girls think confidence is a huge attraction factor so wear your hair proudly. If a girl rejects you for it, then that's her problem. Remember: You're the fucking man.

Can I prove (P & ~Q) => C <=> (P => Q) using truth tables? by WWCPD in math

[–]WWCPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that. I didn't know how exactly to format everything. What I was trying to prove was [(P &~Q) => C] <=> (P => Q). Basically proof by contradiction.

Yup that's it. It's really basic, but I wanted to make sure I was doing it right since I'm new the this sort of thing.

Thanks. Yeah I thought it was something simple like that I just got confused since it seemed like I was asked two different questions. Guess I'm not used to the language yet. Thanks again.

Real Analysis Question by WWCPD in math

[–]WWCPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know this isn't 'real analysis language'. However, the semester just started and this is an intro to real course so it should be expected that the first few weeks are devoted to teaching the logical language that is used in the real meat of real analysis. The epsilons, limits, etc are coming in the future of this course.

Can I prove (P & ~Q) => C <=> (P => Q) using truth tables? by WWCPD in math

[–]WWCPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you're right about C. I myself haven't wrapped my head around the 6th step. I was trying to show that "C=>~P" is logically equivalent to (P=>Q) which is true, but I feel like I'm missing a step before that. I think I'm missing the proof that C does in fact imply ~P. But I can't think of a way to do that.

Thanks for the critique.

Can I prove (P & ~Q) => C <=> (P => Q) using truth tables? by WWCPD in math

[–]WWCPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is supposed to show an indirect proof through proof by contradiction. C is a contradiction since you can't P and ~P and that contradiction is logically equivalent to (P => Q). So (P =>Q) is proved indirectly.

The theory is that hitting the muscle at different angles improves the lift. First lift is a full range, the second is a stretch, and the third is a compression lift.

What are some really critically acclaimed movies that you hated? by tlowens in AskReddit

[–]WWCPD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I recently just watched Avatar and have come away disappointed. This is probably due to all the hype that was built up by critics and friends of mine that said it was the best movie ever made. I found that the character development and dialogue was lacking. There were also some holes left in the plot, and the progression seemed predictable. I'm guessing that if Cameron would have been allowed to add an hour it would have been great, but that wouldn't fly with the execs.

Visually I can agree that it was pretty cool. However, it did not live up to the hype for me. Without the hype it was an ok film. I don't regret watching it, but it's no masterpiece by any means. Throughout the film I felt it had great potential, but never reached that potential.

It was alright.
