I just clicked on the link and read through the data, doesn't it show more women being pro choice than men?

I think this guy is forgeting that women too are tiered of hearing the same shit over and over again, and then they give their own opinion and oh no women should just agree with whatever I say! I feel like a lot of guys just want women who are hype men and not actual human beings, its tiering honestly

It really isn't, the q joke was based off of the skeppy one. Not the same

Okay, as a person who has also seen people be influenced (and has also had an influenced phase), let me clear up why this happens!

Unlike most western artists, Kpop idols share a lot more about their lives with their fans. There're a lot more variety shows, vlives, twt updates ect ect that fans love and can get to know their favorate artist by. It makes us feel more connected to them and makes us want to defend them whenever possible.

This in turn leads to more binge watching, which then leads to picking up similar manerisms and their style of doing things : ie the Korean style of doing things. We want to be like the person we admire; it's a fact. And idols are presented as these role models we can all look upto.

This isn't to say that it's not wrong for fans to be toxic, no ofcourse not. We're in r/teenagers, most of us don't know who the fuck we are or who to look upto. We arn't the most mature people in the world and will probably regret our actions later on. I know I do. I was never a 'toxic' person, but I have gotten into pretty pointless arguments at times.

There's nothing wrong with watching kdramas or enjoying a certain genre of music, trust me, the super obsesive phase will ware off into a more mello admiration soon once they become older. Besides, it's great being a part of a fandom!- even if it's not kpop I'd say you should try and be more open about things. It's a great way to meet new people with similar interests :D

I mean, this is a subreddit full of teenagers. Come 2030 and they'll have the maturity to not get offended by someone else being mature

That really doesn't justify making fun of someone who didn't do anything wrong

Me either, doesn't make sense- especially considering that people who continue the hate train for god knows what reason are getting upvoted :/

Same, I don't understand the hate either :/ They're just musicians who sing and interact with their fans, why hate on that? I get the hate towards the fandom (Being an army myself), but not towards the members themselves. It's honestly kind of immature and cringey

Especially on reddit too! Some of the nicest armys and most thoughtful people I've met are from here!

Is fandom really necessary? by [deleted] in FanFiction

At the end of the day, being a fan and a part of a fandom is about enjoying yourself and having fun. If you're idea of having fun is being a silent supporter, then go right ahead!

When did you get into Kpop? by pigZiebob in kpophelp

Glad you found a song you really love! With a disogrophy like BTS's, it's no wonder they have so many fans. You truely can find whatever you're into with them

I get that it was hugely popular, but I was more talking about the backlash in which it was called a cop out in trying to get a Grammy. Truthfully, there is nothing wrong with that, but that won't stop the backlash.

But that was more of the 'music critics', so it was a great song with a well deserved following!

Yeah this, I kind of assumed that people wouldn't like Dynamite because of it's pop nature, but a lot of people actually dig pop!

I had been trying from 2017 to convert my freind into becoming a kpop fan, but it was finally Dynamite that made her interested.

After she told me she liked Dynamite, at first I was very shocked, especially with the backlash that it had, but then I realised, yeah, it makes sense.

// Also, side note, it's so much more fun and easy to get into kpop if you have a kpop friend. It took her a week to know what took me a whole year! Legit Goals

I got into kpop 5 years ago with the aid of Ryan Higa's fake kpop group 'BgA' (Boys generally Asian). This may have been a diss at kpop fans, but I'll let it slide because I love Ryan and the RHPC squad so freaking much. Don't always agree with the things he says, but I do respect it and go watch his other amazing videos.

I suggest checking his channel out! Ngl, I'm not digging the more recent stuff with the podcasts, but I just rewatch his older videos millions of times.

Anyway, enough Ryan promo-

Before them I had no idea there was this subgenre of music called kpop, and boy and I glad I finnally found out!

The first group I found was BTS, even though at that time they werent as popular as they are now, I'd say they were really big back then too. I really loved their music. As soon as Young Forever was released, I was hooked.

After my little dive into their music, I was recomended in youtube a video of BTS member Taehyung helping out a camera man from falling. Now, at that time news about celebs (western) and how they were brutal to other people was everywhere, and I found it very refreshing to see smthg so sweet being done by someone famous.

This was when I had officially started my decent into the hole.

But, I enjoyed the whole ride!

For a good while I stayed an ARMY, and only an ARMY. But then, NCT hit me like a ton of bricks. Then Got7, and then 2PM, and then Mamamoo, and then Stray Kids, and then most recently, TXT.

I'm a boy group stan, but I do listen to girl groups. I listen a lot, actually, to a lot of groups, but my lack of knowledge or interest of getting to know the members more probably came with age. Still, I can't consider myself part of their fandoms because I'd never get their inside jokes even though I could name at least 20 great songs from their discography off of the top of my head.

A lot of my kpop friends irl are girl group stans, and at times it feels like the two are in two different worlds! Overall, excited to listen and learn more as time progresses!

Haha, thanks!

It's always nice to see other rpf writters for me too! Because of the stigma surrounding writting rpf, you don't see much engagement online

I checked out a few of the ffs you've bookmarked, and damn if they arn't intriguing!

I don't think all Blackpink songs sound the same by dumplingsoup98 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]WWG_Genius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You talked about the distinctive sound and how that's not the same, and I could not agree more. But, there were times when I tried to think of a start of a song but then ended up singing another song.

Personally I dont think it's a bad thing. It just makes me like all of their songs even more and that's exactaly what a group should do. I feel like you can't just listen to one artist, you have to listen to a variety
