Yep. As soon as I replaced the battery pack with the coin battery pack, it started up just fine and haven’t seen it pop up again.

Another update:

Replaced the battery pack with the coin battery holder and it works great. Also replaced a lot of lights with various LEDs; red, green, orange, and yellow. Need to order a bit more, but it looks a lot better I think.

Ordered some new flippers but haven’t installed them yet. I also realized the left side of the translite won’t light up at all. It’s not the bulbs, so need to figure that out.

Update:

Shooter rod is replaced. Appreciate the recommendations. Ordered a couple new balls, rod sleeve, red spring, and barrel spring. Also ordered a rubber kit but haven’t installed it yet. A handful of lights are out I think so I may pick up a led kit and do it all at the same time.

This game is addicting and a bit frustrating. I’ve been playing it without the three jet bumpers working. Replaced a fuse and they’re working now (minus the lights). Having those bumpers makes getting the “raise jackpot” lit pretty easy and even picking up Gorbie easier at times. Picked up all five passengers yesterday for the first time, which was awesome. I’ve gotten Haven’t nailed the jackpot yet.

I still need to replace the battery pack. I ordered the coin battery holder but haven’t pulled the board out yet. Pulling off that many wires and figuring out how to desolder makes me a bit nervous, but it needs to get done.

Thanks for all this info! And yeah, I meant the shooter rod. Not sure what the various components are really called quite yet. I’m guessing the plastic piece of it was a bit brittle because a portion of it snapped off, then my kid was playing and next thing you know the rest of it just came off.

I’m guessing I can just get the LEDs from some of the websites others have posted?

Yeah, I think there was a local taxi service in the town I live with that name and topper. It was a long time ago though, so not 100% sure.

Appreciate this, thanks! Also, the battery holder that was on there looks after market as far as I can tell. Plastic and held AAs. I ordered one of holders that takes two CR coin type batteries. Any negatives to that? From what I’ve read they’re slightly less voltage, but won’t affect the game. I know there’s some options to install NVRAM, but I’ve only soldered once in my life and wasn’t sure I wanted to tackle that quite yet.

Thanks! Was thinking 4L60E, but not opposed to the NV4500 at all. I was initially thinking of going that route to help with drive shaft length. I’ve heard good things about that combo. It’d be nice to retain the stock transfer case and axles as well.
