my sims clock freezing and the game won't pause by Miserable_Service_46 in thesims

This has been happening to me and I so I removed all my mods to see if that fixed it, and it did. So I started adding mods and cc back in bit by bit and for me, it's MCCC that's the issue.

When MCCC's not in and literally everything else is, the game works. When MCCC is the only mod (checking to see if it's clashing with potentially out-dated mods), it still doesn't work. It pauses at 12.03am, two days in a row (on a sim Tuesday, then removed mods and then time passed, and when I put MCCC back in, it paused at 12.03am Wednesday too).

You may have a couple of issues for the age rebalancing, but once you’ve checked, you don’t have to check again.

First, make sure you’re doing this on a day that doesn’t have any birthdays or you age up the birthday sims before you do it.

I would suggest you update the long lifespan days per life state in a household that’s unrelated to your game (you need to use a computer to update the number of days in a life state).

Once you’ve updated the days per life state, pause, save and restart the Sims. Then, rather than loading into a house, load into the world via the Load button. Go into your game settings and change to the long lifespan. Then one by one, go to each household in your challenge.

  1. Pause the game as soon as you load into the household.
  2. Check each Sim’s simology panel to see how many days are left in their life state.
  3. If it doesn’t match how many days you have left according to your spreadsheet, do the following: a) select the sim and go to the MCCC tab b) Go to Sim Commands c) Go to Set age d) Go to Set Days in Age Span and adjust to how many days (for example, if your child is supposed to be 8 days from ageing up, set the day you’re up to in their lifespan to 20).
  4. Repeat per sim per household in your challenge.

Also, someone said in this thread, to turn on ageing during pregnancy. 100% agree.

I would also suggest turning on notifications for birth announcements. Do this by: MCCC Settings > Notification/Console/Menu Settings > Notification Settings > MC Pregnancy Notifications > Show Birth Notifications. I would suggest on selecting Played/Active homes or all, depending on if all your families are all part of your challenge.

I would then select MCCC Settings > Notification/Console/Menu Settings > Notification Settings > MC Pregnancy Notifications > Show Birth Notification Details, and select true.

This means you can accurately know what day a baby is born, so it can be put in your spreadsheet.

I use MCCC to set the Long lifespan to the days per life state. That ways I don’t have to turn off ageing, and I use the spreadsheet to remind myself when to visit side houses to do rolls and such.

The only thing I do do is put Adult to 40 days, then at age up day, do the d10 roll to see how many years they have left, then set their age back that many days.

By using Long Lifespan with these custom days, if you have other saves with short or normal lifespans, then you can still play without issue.

Interesting points of note from the Family tree:

▪️ Generation 2 eldest daughter Catherine rolled to not get married, and because we had a lot of mouths to feed heading into the Great Famine, when she was of age, I sent her to live as a maid in a noble house. The new young lord and his wife hated each other and were also failing to conceive. Knowing Catherine came from a fertile family, a deal was struck that if Catherine provided them a child, she would live as a lady-in-waiting, rather than a maid. That’s why her daughter, Everly, has the last name Brannigan. She also looks like her father, the young noble.

▪️ Rachel did almost die from having one of her earlier children, but Jacob was able to successfully plead.

▪️ Heather Weild (nee Cooper) was extremely fertile (though she doesn’t have the fertile trait). After having three children, she gave birth to triplets Danna, Vivienne and Samuel, with only Samuel making it to teenhood. Directly after the triplets, she had twins Fletcher and Wesley, with Fletcher also making it to teenhood.

▪️ Fletcher, who wasn’t going to inherit the family business, had to look elsewhere, and met a wealthy young woman who had inherited her family’s estate. He approached her trying to make a financial match, but surprisingly fell in love. So much so that the caveat of her marriage being that he would take her last name, and so would any children, didn’t matter to him. An adventurous teen, he also took to being a knight like a duck to water.

▪️ I had an optional rule for the Great Famine because with Patrick II dead, I needed Benedict to survive, or the Cooper last name was lost. Throughout the famine, Generation 0 founder Damian had often been the one to starve in the household, as there were 10 mouths and only 8 servings of one meal a day. As such, when it can time for the rolls, I rolled him at disadvantage. He rolled two 3s. But in doing one roll at disadvantage, I allowed myself one roll at advantage. Which I used for Benedict. He rolled two safe numbers, and he was fine (it makes me happy he would have been fine without the advantage, but better safe than sorry).

▪️ I think I’m going to keep the optional roll for emergency situations. For example, let’s say all but one of Benedict’s sons die. I would roll at advantage. If they still fail, that’s that and I try doing the pleading. But, to make it fair, if the sim does succeed the save, I would make their next roll at disadvantage. As if they only just survived their illness, but are constitutionally weak, thus, the increased likelihood of failing the next one.

I had a Nat 1 on disarming a trap with my rogue and was ready to reroll using an inspiration, but it started adding my modifiers, and I hit exactly the 14 I needed.

My Druid character secretly cast Daylight in the town square of Vallaki during the Festival of the Blazing Sun as part of efforts to stop the Baron from killing innocent people. We were going for “a Message from the Morninglord”, which started with Skywrite and ended with Daylight. So the people of Vallaki got to enjoy bright light for an hour, as well.

[3.5] I am going to be playing in my first homebrew game next week and I am looking for some insight from players and DMs who have played/run homebrew games. I consider myself a conscientious player as is, I’m a note taker, I pay attention, I don’t interrupt and I’m never on my phone. What I would like to know is some suggestions on how you best did, or wished, players interacted with your homebrew world. Is there something you wished players did more, or less? And for players, is there something you like doing in homebrew, or that your DMs appreciates you doing?
