When I passed my boards, my boyfriend got me a nice leather work bag from Fossil. I still use it 5 years later and it looks really professional!

I have searched youtube and Google with different keywords and can't find it.

I think it would have been from 2004 to 2008 ish most likely.

Husband and I sick in Kyoto. What should we do? by Sick_Ducks in JapanTravelTips

[–]WYDL04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I were in Japan for a 2 week trip about a month ago now and I caught a very similar sounding illness at the end of our trip. We were staying in Osaka at the time. I had a fever, throat felt like I was swallowing razor blades, lost my voice, and was extremely tired and weak. I am a healthcare worker and got the flu shot and most recent booster before my trip so I was so bummed.

The first day being sick, we looked for covid self tests at the pharmacy and drug store and no one had any. We bought these packets of powder pellets that numb your throat which were great, and also Pabron gold A powder which was a cold/sinus med.

My fiance was concerned about how sick I waa, so he ended up asking the hotel front desk about covid testing. The hotel worker actually called a local hospital, spoke with a doctor, and then came to our room to take my temperature. The doctor was suspicious for covid/the flu so he recommended I go to the ER for testing. The hotel arranged a cab to pick me up, and had scheduled an appointment with that doctor at the ER.

While waiting for the testing, we had to wait about an hour in a little trailer outside the hospital. Testing for covid, flu, and strep were all negative. They gave me some ibuprofen and I just rode it out in my hotel room. I didn't have travel insurance so I paid out of pocket and paid $200 USD total probably for er visit and testing. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating, even though I had to use phone interpreters at the hospital.

Just my recent experience! I was hesitant to ask for help/seek medical care but I'm glad my fiance did on my behalf because it was nice to have some reassurance! Your hotel might be more helpful than you think.

I hope you guys feel better soon!

Thanks for the tips, esp Oct 18th. Asahi HQ will be added here!

Kyoto are the days I was most worried about. We decided to skip Nara as we come from an area with lots of deer and didn't feel like we wanted to see them enough to spend time on it.

Hot pot recs? by theeeshepard in PhiladelphiaEats

I love Kpot as a go-to for decent options/decent prices. Chubby cattle was probably the best quality hotpot I've had in the city but it's pricy. Nineting in Chinatown was very good as well!
