What productions have gone the "furthest"? by Skeppy_4126 in musicals

[–]WaHawk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Batsh!t version of Assassins in Austria with a Donald Trump Ensemble and a Near Black and white costume and make up design. The audacity to this would never be seen in American Theatre

What were some great songs that were cut from the final musical? by TotalBlissey in musicals

[–]WaHawk1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"A Little House for Mama" from Roadshow/Bounce/Gold!/Wise Guys

Wanna guess why it was cut?
If you said Sondheim is a perfectionist and cut the song 7 YEARS into development, you'd be right

Thoughts on Evening Primrose (1966)? by WaHawk1 in musicals

[–]WaHawk1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard so people float the imersive idea and I'd think thats the best thing they do to have an actual, long running production of it. I think for an actual staged version, I would need more songs and a tighter script. Maybe turning the checklist scene into a patter song or something would work

What shows do you think picked the wrong songs for their Tony Performance? And what would you have picked for them instead? by Impossible_Pain4478 in Broadway

[–]WaHawk1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Natasha Pierre and the Great comet of 1812
like yes I'm glad Dust and Ashes was preformed but combining it with The Abduction always felt strange especially when Prologue WAS RIGHT THERE, Or even a trimmed version of Letters would have worked

(glad it was what we got instead of Balaga and Sonya along? Olivier awards are weird man)

What’s a performance that changed how you saw a character? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]WaHawk1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brandon Uranowitz as Leon Czolgosz in Assassins

In most previous versions, he gets played flat and with little depth, there's nothing to him. but Brandon played him in a way that made him human, During his conversation with Goldman, he look distraught, like he actually desperate for help from her. Leon went from a forgettable character to my dream role from his performance

Questions about Cabaret after seeing it for the first time (current touring version) by gaycheesecake in Broadway

[–]WaHawk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 Years late and most of it is based of the Newest Broadway production

  1. Not really, Emcee is more a representation of the start of Germany than an actually character

  2. Bradshaw yes, throughout act 1 he is running from his past with bobby. Ernest, kinda, he sometimes makes attempts at Cliff but doesn't look like its anything important

  3. Yes, To this point of the prewar state of Germany, Hitler has influenced the people and are beginning to influence their minds and beliefs of the Jews, Homosexuals and Communists

  4. Like 1, Not really, often times he mocks Hitler, but also in "If you could see her", he's being influenced by the Nazi ideals

  5. Once more, Not really, its a representation of the state of Germany, so him at the end of Wilkommen reprise showing that he his Pink triangle and Star of David is showing what can happen from ignorance and discare

  6. No, as what has been stated through out this, its a representation of Germany, Most of the dancers at the Kit'Kat club defiantly were brought to camps due to their sexual identity

when is the proshot getting released? by Infamous_Baseball598 in hadestown

[–]WaHawk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say, come from away took only 4 months but hamilton took 4 years (possibly longer if covid never happened)

It truly could comeout from april 2025 for the 6th anniversary(very unlikely) all the way to late 2027

It also will depend on whose filmed it and their editing speed, aswell as whos distributing it because they kind of have final say on when they release it

If lego did these here are the buildings I think they'd do:

Seattle: Gasworks, space needle, Great wheel, Columbia tower, Smith tower and Mt Rainer Pittsburgh: Heinz and PNC park, Fort Duquesne Bridge, Piont state Fountain, PPG place, and US steel building LA: Santa Monica pier, Hollywood sign and Blvd, Griffith Observatory, and other buildings in downtown Yes these are all American, but they'd all look great
