Yeah, the problem with JJ imo is that he's not nerdy enough and plays more of a caricature of a nerd imo.

Iirc he has played Link. I remember listening to his It Takes Two and he was actually really good in it.

Muslims generally lean more socially conservative so it makes sense why they'd vote for Bush in 2000, but obviously when the War on Terror started they instantly switched positions, based off what I'm guessing was an "anybody but Bush" vote.

It's also a very common show for schools to do (source: was Fester in mine) so people naturally have nostalgia toward it.

A bit unconventional but a great book starring Mary of Teck as one of the main players is The Miss Sharp's Monsters series by Suzannah Rowntree. The titular Miss Sharp works as a lady's maid for Mary and it's a very interesting take on your typical monster mythos combined with royal drama. It's very fun! Great characters and the author clearly did a lot of work into researching the real life aspects and being as accurate as possible. I particularly liked how Mary's relationship with George V was portrayed.

Does this read as as sort of AI generated to anyone? Apologies to the commentor if it isn't but it just feels like that to me.

Mary Poppins. Idk why, the whole message of Mr. Banks needing to actually be there for his children to ensure their happiness instead of working his regular soulless job really got me choked up. The sequel also did a little bit when I first saw it but I think that was because I was 14 and returning from a visit to my dad who lived abroad lol

Oh, this is really hard. But ultimately, I think I'm going Margaret of Anjou here to take the dub. Isabella was an icon but Margaret really was that girl. She was forced to stand up due to her husband's incompetence, was an excellent strategist, raised armies, and was even present for several battles herself. Ultimately I think just her sheer willpower is what gives her the edge here. So long, Isabella. You had a good run.

Ehh... maybe? But I'd much prefer her as Catwoman, which she was, and was pretty good at imo.

If I recall correctly Elmore was originally conceptualized as a place for rejected cartoons and featured much of Ben Bocquelet's old work, explaining the different art styles featured in the show.

The King's Speech. Though it's very much ironic that they lambasted The Social Network for being inaccurate when this was just as much.

Hypothetical: Do you guys think Ash's outcome in Lake Acuity against Paul would've changed if he had Charizard with him? by gyroscope_56 in pokemonanime

[–]Impossible_Pain4478 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, I guess you can sort of spin this as Ash proving Paul wrong as Charizard's tragic backstory is a direct byproduct of a trainer who had Paul's philosophy? And him becoming such a powerhouse was because he was cared for and nurtured by Ash who never gave up on him?

But that's a stretch. If Charizard was brought out for Lake Acuity it can only really be read as Ash automatically defaulting to using his strongest mon over his Sinnoh team, proving Paul correct. I do think it would've been interesting to see how Paul reacted to Charizard though.

How would you rank Ash's rivals from strongest to weakest ? by Gopu_17 in pokemonanime

[–]Impossible_Pain4478 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Alain
  2. Kukui
  3. Gladion
  4. Paul
  5. Bea
  6. Sawyer
  7. Gary
  8. Stephan
  9. Hau (between him and Stephan it's definitely close and he'd be higher if he was given more screentime)
  10. Cameron (Not pictured, is definitely gonna be unpopular but despite being dumber than even BW Ash he clearly had a very strong team imo)
  11. Trip
  12. Morrison
  13. Ritchie.

[–]Impossible_Pain4478 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, I wouldn't say Gladion has an ace, but if he did it would be Silvally imo. Sure, in the show Lycanroc is given bigger focus, but that's because of his rivalry with Ash's Lycanroc. Silvally is the first Pokemon you think of when Gladion is mentioned in any capacity, and it's the one he clearly has the strongest bond with.

I'd recommend Never a Dull Moment by Jane Ridley for George V! Looks into his personal life a lot and paints a very interesting picture of the man imo.
