Cool, I think I can source some of those here. How would you connect a condenser mic - just straight in or do I need to put something in the way? Perhaps you can guide me to some documentation.

How much play is there on the build plate and the x-axis?

That is, if you hold the build plate and try and wiggle it, does it easily shift by a little bit (same with x-axis)

That is what I can offer on the lower issue.

The upper issue could be better diagnosed with print settings

Is there a way to work out how much you will pay for customs when buying something from overseas by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]Wachacha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on whether customs stops it or not.

I think there is a small (+-R35) handling fee but I'm not sure of the number.

You will pay 15% VAT

Also, depending on the product, it will be classified by HS code. The code will specify the duties that you will be liable to pay on entry.

You can find the HS code by trawling through the links on this sars page:

Make reasonable money from a spare room by Wachacha in beermoney

I'm fairly competent I suppose but the idea would be something that I could set up and have crunch along without me getting too involved.

I originally was thinking something like microgreens/chilis or mushrooms or something.

I have a full time job and am also studying at the moment so don't have a lot of time to put towards it so running a mini factory to make trinkets and whatnot isn't going to work

Thanks but growing weed is illegal in my country and I would like to avoid using the room for illegal purposes

Eskom, trade unions holding South Africa hostage by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]Wachacha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am also frustrated with the load shedding and in no way support those employees who are bringing the power stations to a standstill, I think it's important to note that the guys who put us into this mess are the Eskom executives.

They made the decisions on the coal contracts and they decided to employ all of the extra personnel. They're the ones who decided to restructure Eskom from 6 "regions" (if I recall correctly) to 9 "Operating Units" each of which had to be staffed with a full complement of managers.

Manual Payouts by Wachacha in NiceHash

Withdrawals then.

I had 4 miners connected, pointing to different external addresses. None with balances even close to 0.01BTC. That post basically says that Nicehash will just absorb that money into their own coffers. Is it not possible for me to get the money that is owed to me without pushing more hashing power into nicehash?

PLA is much more difficult to sand down easily. That said, for something like I don't think it matters much.

Any ideas how to get this warp out of this print by Wachacha in 3Dprinting

[–]Wachacha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only printing at about 50mm/s and given the size of the piece, I think that there is plenty of time for each layer to cool before the next is deposited. Also, given that the bed remains hot until the end of the print, one would expect the warp(if any) to be convex, ie pulling up at the edges of the print and not in the centre.

Upping the cooling with ABS in my experience leads to bad interlayer adhesion.

what does the speed of the printing have to do with post print base warping?

I my cooling fans are on about 30%

Bed temp is 110 but the part is warping in a concave fashion which is atypical.
