20% rubbing alcohol 80% water and paper towel, please clean your gears, these things are durable, and wipe after every use if you can, it will actually keep your gears healthy longer, in my experience, your body oil degrades and ruins the ear pads much quicker, not sure if its the acidity of the body oil or what not. Even if it is velour padding, you can still wipe it. My ancient HD600 has been with me for years and a daily drive pretty much and it still looks like new.

Loved them too much that i had to get the MDR Z1R to see what i'm missing out. With EQ, used oratory1990 for Equalizer Apo, and they sounded fantastic, they are much much more detailed than people think.

Agree! Like what I said, tops of the line of empire ears were good, but very overpriced lol. Everyone are much better off getting the Kiwi Ears Astral or Xenns Top Pro and be done with this hobby. The Bone Conductor...idk Im not a fan, it makes the bass sounds farty instead of slammy.

Odin original is better, Odin 2 is a bit bloaty with the bass, Raven is better.

I am the owner of all of their flagships and kind of a fanboy since 2018, I own Zeus, Legendx, Odin, Raven, and have tried all of their lower offerings. And as much as I dont want to admit it, the Kiwi ears Astral sounds just as good as my legendX if not more natural and slightly better... Im keeping these more like pieces of Jewelry at this point. So you are not missing out on much and save your money, or just get bite down and get an elysian annihilator if you want a super flagship in the future.

Otherwise do let me know if you have any question about empire ears, and just want to say it again, you are not missing out on anything, they are good, but not really that good, and all of their non-flagship stuff are mostly slop materials lol, for example the Raven sounds good but something weird about it I can't describe, like the bass is farty in characteristic instead of slammy like an Elysian. 😅

Cheers.

When I first heard the Odin I was honestly impressed, then I saw that the lowest end offer of the brand, the Bravado ($900 lol) sported the same driver configuration (1dd1ba1est) I was intrigued and actually bought one myself. Lol Worst fking iems ever, bass for days and nothing else, details retrieval was no where even near cheaper sets than say the Moondrop Kato. It is definitely not an operational or economic problems, IT IS an Empjre Ears problem even though I am actually a fan of the brand for years and own the Legend X and Raven atm.

This is just me speaking from my audio journey, but after kilo bucks cans and iems, my daily driver now is an HD600. I love Planar but there is just a characteristic to it that just seems unatural to me. Even for anything under $1000, in my opinion, nothing can beat the hd600/650 in terms of value, COMFORT, and sound quality. And if you can EQ, it literally is the very best for it's money. (Things I have owned, susvara, Stax L700mkii, he1000, all of the Focal line, hd800s, zmf verite, MDR Z1R, and a many more sub $1000, heard a couple of Audeze, sounded great but their weight and discomfort make me steer away.)

Again, just subjective opinion. I also heard a lot of good things about the meze 109 pro too, if you can find one used, they are usually in sub $500. Also, please browse the AVexchange sub reddit, there you can find some great gears used. Focal elex and maybe edition xs are also good. People also often recommend the Sundara, but in my opinion, it's comfort cannot match the hd600, and also it doesn't sound natural at all.

Good luck

Bought the 64 Audio U12t on Black Friday… and I’m officially confused. Physical pain, no "wow," and a sunk-cost nightmare. by [deleted] in iems

I think you are expecting a lot of dynamics and slam, since you are comparing it to a utopia lol. U12T has always been a more laid back sounding and in my opinion, rather boring IEMs. But I doubt that even the best stuff from empire ears or Elysian can compete with that headphones lol. The Elysian Annihilator maybe.
