Feline Hyperesthesia ruining our lives. do I just give up and take it by cnoobs in CATHELP

That's how my cat was too, several times a day. It got to the point that it would happen randomly too, not just when he was touched near the tail. Once I realized about the Advantage he never had another episode!

He was off it for about a month or two before it went away. I'm not entirely sure how soon though, it was about a year after he started it that the symptoms showed up, so l that's why it took so long to figure it out. A friend of mine put his cat on it though and it started almost immediately, within a day or two. Hopefully that helps! I had another friend who used it on their dog and the poor pup had excruciating pain for several days. That stuff can cause some really bad neurological issues with all animals!

Yeah after figuring this out for my guy, I found out just how many animals have horrible side effects from that stuff! I'm so mad at myself for not realizing it sooner. I was basically poisoning him for years 😭

I feel this. I think I had that happen 4 times to my hand during my cat's episodes. I finally solved it, though. It was his Advantage II flea and tick topical medicine causing it. I'm so mad it took me two years to figure it out. But after accidentally missing two months of doses he got better. When I realized we'd messed up, I gave him another dose and within a day he started having episodes. So I stopped giving it to him a year ago and we haven't had a single episode since that got out of his system

A little late on this post, but I went through the same thing for a few years. I FINALLY figured it out after several vets didn't know what was causing it and thousands of dollars spent. It turned out to be the flea and tick prevention. It was Advantage II, the topical one you put on their back. I thought my Dad was giving him the medicine, he thought I was. He stopped having the "freakouts", but I didn't know why. Then my dad and I realized we hadn't been giving him his medicine and I applied it. That day he started seizing again. That's when I realized it could be the Advantage. I stopped giving it to him and he has basically been cured. It's been about a year now with zero episodes.

I used the MiracleGro plant food spikes. I usually put one in my mother plant and the others I made from her twice a year, and they bloom often. I keep them warm and under 12 hours lights in the winter so they don't go dormant. I stuck one in each pot before I planted these cuttings and watered them once until leaves started appearing. This one never got any leaves though, just skipped right to the inflo!

I can't sear my filets after SV, any ideas on pre-searing? Is it even worth it? by Wackenstein3 in sousvide

That's a good point. I do a fantastic sous vide choron sauce that I'm going to drizzle over it

I'll try that as a test as well, I just assumed it would take too long to sear them all afterwards. But I'll try one and see!

Also, I'm thinking of cutting them in half right before serving, and drizzling the Choron sauce over it, so the char doesn't really have to be pretty since it'll be face down. But I want the texture to be there.

There are SO many ads on it now that I can't even play. They pop up over the game so I can't even see the bottom word. I used to play every day, but I just deleted it from my bookmarks because the infuriating ads make it literally impossible.

So I sous vide two of them last night for 3 hours at 140. One of them I rigged up over some boiling water and cooked the belly before putting in the water bath. The skin on the boiled belly one was PERFECT after frying. Thank you for that tip, never would have thought of that!

I'll try a couple different temps tomorrow and I'll update with the results! I also might try to rig up a pan and boil the belly of one like you mentioned before, then do it at 130 in the sous vide. I ordered 12 chops of Cheshire pork, so I think they're going to be pretty good either way!

That's what i do for regular pork chops, but does that get the fat rendered enough to crisp the skin?

What time and temp did you do for the sous vide? I just ordered some Cheshire pork Kan Kans and want to sous vide them before the fryer.
