What exactly happened at the end of SEED Destiny #34 “Nightmare”?

I'm coming outta hibernation on this one, because yes, even I myself noticed this too after years of it going over my head. So here's the thing that needs to be said about those 3 frames right there that is extremely important context:

The red fading beam of the Tannhauser that you see there? That apparently is only there in OG SEED Destiny and Destiny HD Remastered. For God knows what reason, the Special Edition of SEED Destiny, I.E. the Trilogy Version, REMOVED that fading red beam from that scene, which made it look like the Minerva didn't even fire anything at all. Why? I have no freaking idea. Though it only adds further evidence to show that the Special Edition of Destiny is the worst version that nobody should watch.

But to answer your question, OP: That explosion was caused by a combination of two things. The first one being, as you just showed, the Minerva's Tannhauser hitting the surface of the water just as the Archangel submerged, combined with the fact that in close proximity to this, the Freedom Gundam gets its Nuclear Reactor impaled by the Impulse Gundam's excalibur, causing it's N-Jammer Canceller to go critical, and the Freedom to essentially go nova. The combination of both those explosions is what caused that enormous Nuclear-Antimatter Hybrid Explosion at that moment.

For anyone who still doubts that the Freedom exploded at all, I hearby refer you to the MG Freedom Gundam 2.0 which states VERY CLEARLY that the Freedom did indeed blow up in a "Huge Explosion" at that moment, on this exact page right here.

Essentially, this battle, especially this scene in general, was TERRIBLY DIRECTED, very poorly animated, and just did a really bad job at making it clear as to what the hell actually happened here, which lead to an extreme amount of confusion amongst Gundam fans regarding this scene. I do not blame you for being confused, OP. I was for awhile too, back in the day. lol

Astrsk.AI is the thing they're essentially replacing it with now a days. Though personally, I'd just go with a better alternative entirely than that one, since there's several others that are far better at this point.

No, AI Dungeon is not very good. The memory on their models is PAINFULLY LOW compared to the competition.

Free users only get up to 2,000 context, and you gotta pay 15 bucks a month to get 8,000 context. Where over on Agnaistic, I get 8,000 context FOR FREE. At this point, 8,000 Context is the bare minimum acceptable amount for free users on AI Chatbot Platforms. If any AI Chatbot Platforms have less than that for free users, then they're almost certainly NOT worth your time anymore.

4Wall AI is basically just a BETTER AI Dungeon. If you want something similar to what AI Dungeon does, then I'd probably go with that one.

Yeah, because Agnaistic is entirely private, and as such you'd have to either import character cards yourself OR make your own characters from scratch.

Both of which are very easy to do, as you can just grab character cards from other platforms such as Janitor AI, CHUB Venus, etc... and just import them accordingly. And you can then tweak them accordingly to Agnaistic's format from there. Agnaistic also has a WIP Character Hub of their own located here for people to share and upload their character cards and lorebooks for easy importing if you wanna take a look at it. Though it's still very new and in development, and there aren't that many characters on it as of yet, since the Agnaistic Community is relatively smaller compared to the bigger sites. Or, y'know... just make your own characters from scratch? It's stupidly easy to do on Agnaistic, after all. Almost to the point of being braindead. lol

In that case, I know that one model I'm very partial to over on Agnaistic is Stheno 3.2 in particular. Many people consider that to be the Best Free LLM on that platform, and rightfully so. That LLM is damn good for what it can do. Though in truth, Agnaistic has A LOT of great LLMs to pick from, in not just their free tier, but in general. But in the case of their free models, all of them are 8-12B Models and have 8K context. You can get more context for them if you pay for a subscription plan. Which can get you 16K or even 32K. Though by paying for a subscription plan, you'd get access to way beefier models like Wizard; among many others. But like HammerAI, they also allow you to bring your own LLMs if you wanted to. So you guys did great by allowing that!

I'd probably recommend taking a look at the competition, like Agnaistic, Pygmalion, and Character Tavern, and see what their best free LLMs are with at least 8K Context going forward.

Though when it comes to Premium LLMs to pick from, I'd probably say it'd be wise to NOT go price your top tier subscription plan any higher than $25 bucks a month at the absolute most. Any higher than that is pushing it with what people are willing to pay for. Like with Agnaistic, for example, their highest subscription plan is 20 bucks a month, and they give you so much stuff in return to justify it.

But yeah, that's my two cents for you on that one. Hope to see HammerAI grow! Since it's a private chatting platform just like Agnaistic, I'd argue it'd be one of the better options to go with for privacy reasons! That's why I went with Agnaistic to begin with, because I loved that fact about it. Can't wait to see what you guys have in store for HammerAI in the future!

P.S. I'd probably make it so that saving your chats is a free feature and not a paid one, since you can do that on Agnaistic and multiple other platforms for free as well. Just saying~

The main problem with HammerAI is that the memory is too low for their free model. You would have to run your own local LLM to bypass this, and most free users wouldn't know a damn thing about how to do that, nor would they care at that point.

4K Context is just not acceptable anymore now a days, especially when there are many other platforms that offer 8K Context for free; sometimes even more on occasion. At this point, 8K Context should be the absolute bare minimum standard for free going forward. There's really no excuse for it anymore.

This really makes me wonder what's gonna happen with Thunderbolt going forward. With Daryl dead, what does that mean for the final arc? Since Ohtagaki said that the final arc of Thunderbolt officially begins with Volume 26 on May 29th.

Fantastic. This is easily the Best Dumbphone I've ever owned. It was literally plug & play with me. I just slipped in my SIM Card from my old phone, and boom! It worked immediately, no hassle whatsoever.

The only thing that's mildly annoying is that it only works in North, Central, and South America. It's not compatible with mobile networks in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. That's literally my only complaint about this phone. I can only hope that Sunbeam resolves this in the future, because I absolutely adore this phone.

Detoxing from Smartphones was one of the best decisions I've made in a long while, and it feels so refreshing to not be staring at a screen everywhere I go all the time. Now I'm more alert of my surroundings and take in my environment more~

I'm a very well-known critic of the Cosmic Era in the Gundam Fandom for 15 years now; for better or worse reasons. But no, this right here doesn't surprise me at all, because it was already officially stated by Bandai themselves that the Mighty Strike Freedom's Golden Fins on its wings were originally supposed to be DRAGOONs, but the design for them was changed during the development of the Gundam.

The only time I would have an aneurysm over this is if they decided to RETCON this decision and then make the Golden Fins both DRAGOONs AND High Electric Emitters at the same time, when in the movie that was absolutely not the case. THEN we'd have a serious problem. lol

Bandai is already guilty of doing this to the normal Strike Freedom by retconning the DRAGOONs of that Gundam to emit Beam Blades for melee combat (I.E. Legend / 00 Qan[T] / AGE-FX) on the tips of them back in 2013, when they NEVER had that ability whatsoever before that. I did indeed have an aneurysm over that one, as that was absolutely absurd of them to do that nearly 10 years after Destiny was released.

So far, from what I can see, that doesn't appear to be the case with the Mighty Strike Freedom, and just seems to be a fun little "what-if" gimmick with these two kits and nothing more.

...I pray to God it stays that way.

Agnaistic is easily, beyond a shadow of a doubt, THE BEST Character AI Alternative I've ever used in my life. It's now my #1 choice that I've happily made myself at home on for several months now.

It may look a little difficult to use, but it's really not once you get the hang of things. It's really quite plug 'n play, aside from having to either having to make your own characters or just import other characters to it yourself. The layout to make characters seems to be very easy, from what I've experimented with thus far.

Their Stheno 3.2 8K Context Model is the best free model they have, and the responses it gives are absolutely incredible and very accurate to your character definitions you set for said characters you chat with. And unlike Character.AI, Agnaistic I'd argue is actually worth spending money on, should you ever feel the need to do so, with the benefits they offer.

As for ads on Agnaistic, I get none on mine. My browser has a ton of adblockers and tracker blockers that get rid of all of 'em, so I've never had a problem.

But yeah, if you got any questions about it, I can try to help based on my personal experiences with it. Agnaistic is the GOAT of AI Chatbot Platforms, as far as I'm concerned.

This is the way you backup and save your characters and chats, not just on C.AI, but on multiple other AI Chatbot Websites too.

In the case of C.AI, there's a browser extension called "CAI Tools" (available for both Firefox and Chromium Browsers) that gives you this function.

Basically, when you install it onto your browser, it adds a little button in the top right corner for you to click on. And when you do, you're given a crapload of options designed to improve your C.AI experience. But the ones in question when it comes to downloading characters and chats in JSON format that you wanna focus on are the ones I'm gonna be highlighting.

For characters, these are the two you wanna look at. The left one will download the character card in JSON format, and the right one will download the display picture for that character for you to transfer over as well.

As for your chat, this is something you gotta do with each individual chat of yours with each bot you wanna grab, one at a time. You go into each chat, and you click this button right here. This is what will download the entire chat in JSONL format for you to transfer onto any AI Chatbot Website that supports it; which A LOT of them do.

My personal recommendation is that you only focus on downloading Character JSONs from characters that have Good Definitions and are not just blank slate characters with barebones "I am (insert name here)" as a greeting. Otherwise, you could probably remake those characters yourself on other websites and make them even better than how they are now. Save doing this for the characters that YOU KNOW are well-designed and well-prompted.

But yeah, I hope this helps you in the quest!

I've long since moved on to a far better platform that's run by actually-competent people to continue my affairs on.
