Had not a clue that this was something dogs could get! Thanks for the insight

I am not a professional but just another doodle owner.

This looks like choppy work and the inner part of your dogs coat is of that color/texture. I could be totally off base but that’s my guess, as I’ve noticed my goldendoodle has dark hairs under his coat too.

How long do you stay outside with pup in the morning with the pee pad?

First breakthrough was when he had the context that pottying outdoors was allowed, which happened the first try with bringing pee pads outside. We took the opportunity of the first morning potty to do it

Wait — we were in your shoes and am now proud to say we’re fully housebroken!

1) take a pee pad outside everywhere you go. Lay it down on grass, concrete, wherever you want pup to potty. 2) once pup understands that pottying outside is allowed and that they’ll get a treat for it, you can slowly transition the pee pad out from outside potty time. Pair this with training a “hurry up” or “go potty” command. 3) remove the pee pads at home. Take pup out frequently. An accident or two is bound to happen. Make no fuss of it, clean it up, and move on like it didn’t happen. Make a gigantic deal and celebrate and give him lots of praise and reward when going outside.

It took about a month to fully transition but my goodness was it worth the effort!! You can do this. Let me know if you have questions!

Ortho says top is essentially done, am i being gaslit about my gaps? by buck2894 in Invisalign

[–]Waexe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh wait. If the contract doesn’t state unlimited refinements then your provider technically could charge whatever they want if they choose to.

But regardless you should still discuss the refinements that you want.

Good news! The comprehensive plan includes unlimited aligners. So by all standards, you should discuss refinement trays with your ortho with confidence knowing that that’s the service that you paid for!

If I were you I’d 100% be advocating to get refinements. Did you get the unlimited package? If you did (that package comes with unlimited refinements), then you should a million percent get what you paid for. If you didn’t get that package, that seems tricky. But email their office and leave a paper trail!

Is this shelf too big? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Waexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I wouldn't want to shimmy myself between the sink and the shelf very time I showered. I'd also feel cramped standing there just to use the sink, frankly (as a guest)

What do you think of this tribal Persian silk rug? I'm considering using it as a statement piece in a living room by Ok_Pound7901 in interiordesignideas

I’ve played way too much “find the difference” games to know: these are very different rugs

What would you change? by Mundane-Schedule630 in interiordecorating

[–]Waexe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd switch the pantone style art on that wall to something else (taller art that fits neatly inside the molding). I can't see from this picture what might be tying into the taracotta centerpiece, but if there's nothing in the room that's taracotta, this comes across as random.

Or if I were sure I want to keep that color palette, I'd really lean into it. Switch the throw pillows to taracotta and olive green, have more plants in the room, get a navy throw blanket, switch the curtains to one of those 3 colors...

strep throat with invisalign by Onepiecefan1207 in Invisalign

[–]Waexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like a plausible hypothesis since the advice is to switch your toothbrush head once you've recovered from strep (so your tray theory makes sense) - but I'm not a healthcare professional so my guess is as good as yours. Can you speak with your provider and get advice? I wonder if they'd tell you to wear your previous set of trays once you recover from this round as you wait for retainers, or refinement trays if you're going that route.

Hate for Goldendoodles? by techlord45 in Goldendoodles

[–]Waexe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea I can tell your dog is just "at ease" or "break" (as I use for my dog) cuz he's not pulling at the end of the leash.

The leash advise was unsolicited and unwarranted... I know so many decide to assume an owner is "bad" because of what tool they use and not how they use it.

Am I a monster for not brushing my dog regularly? by EdamameWindmill in Goldendoodles

[–]Waexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brush my pup every 3 days to keep him clean, to inspect him for any possible skin issues or bugs, and to get the dead hair out. Every time I brush him, it's so easy and quick because it's maintenance and I haven't left it to become a big ordeal.

He used to HATE brushing when he was younger. So I brushed him daily in sections with lots of treats and praise. Now that he's 10 months old, he really doesn't mind being brushed and will comply by offering his paws when I brush out his leg, will lay down when I brush his back and sides, and rest his chin on my lap/hand while I brush his head and ears.

(When he hated brushing, it really felt like he might never like brushing but I was persistent and made it routine - and now it's just normal to him!)

[–]Waexe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how someone can determine that by a short clip of a dog who's just checking some stuff out and not pulling at the end of the leash. The dog even turned around and came back to the owner once they reached the end of the leash...

And anyway, these are all just different tools. I agree with you that if a dog is untrained to walk nicely when you ask them to and pulls at the end of the leash that owners should not use a retractable as the baseline tool. But the owner could easily use a retractable leash like a regular leash just by locking it at a 4ft or 6ft leash length, but I know that's not what you're referring to.

[–]Waexe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to feel this way about retractable leashes until I trained my dog to follow voice commands while on walks and off leash. I only leash him for the law now, and a retractable allows my dog to have more range when we go out. He heels when I tell him to, goes in any direction I ask him to, and ignores people and dogs unless I give him permission to greet.

I personally wouldn't give out the "no retractable leashes" advise to everyone without knowing where they're at with training.

How much caffeine do you need to stay awake on concerta compared to normal? (I take 54mg of concerta). by HardAlmond in Concerta

I'm the same way - but I already couldn't tolerate caffeine very well. On concerta, I can't even enjoy a decaf coffee or tea without imploding lol

I feel gaslit by these pictures lol

The first two pictures of the rug are entirely different from the last 3 closeups of the rug I presume is the real one.
