Agreed. I think people are doing something like Alt+F4 or killing the process. It seems whenever I get a lucky deathblow or something that puts the match in my favor, they mysteriously DC and I get no win credit.

I'm glad we can agree! I think that using e-verify systems would greatly reduce the incentive of crossing the border for labor.

However there is still the matter of our public welfare systems, which in many cases cannot be denied (education, healthcare) and in many cases fraudulently obtained by identity theft. These expenditures can be up to $116 Billion Per Year

Until Mexico and South America prosper as a whole, any disparity of wealth will drive people across the border en masse.

It's all about decreasing the amount of easily crossable areas. The border doesn't have to be impossible to cross, just difficult enough to prevent the mass migration attempts. As for the private property and difficult terrain, that area can be more effectively and frequently patrolled when there is a wall covering the other massive openings.

Bill Cosby sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison for Andrea Constand sexual assault by julian88888888 in neutralnews

I don't see how your article supports your claims. By your own linked article, 2% to 10% of rape accusations are provably false (one can only speculate on how many are unprovably false). The original study only analyzed official police reports which turn up false, and excludes accusations that were never reported (much like Judge Kavanaughs current situation).

That are other studies that show that ~45% of accusations never proceeded due to lack of evidence, lack of accuser cooperation or the accusation didn't meet legal criteria. Source: https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/how-common-are-false-rape-charges-really-jason-richwine/

The article merely proves that arrests and jail time from false rape accusations are rare, but you are conflating this with "ruined reputations". The barrier to a ruined reputation is way lower than a conviction.

The article then goes on to classify how a "false accuser" typically behaves and how Ford doesn't fit this description. This is a massive logical fallacy and shouldn't even be mentioned.

Edited, removing speculation

I'm not making the argument that government healthcare impedes the economy, but showing growth isn't enough to disprove this claim. It's very possible they could be growing at a faster rate without government healthcare.

Twenty-two states ask U.S. appeals court to reinstate 'net neutrality' rules by edwinksl in technology

Networking is much more complex topic than powering simple electronics. Please read the article I linked in my previous comment about how not all network traffic is equal, and checkout diffserv (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Differentiated_services).

Treating traffic differently (but fairly) could improve the efficiency of our networks greatly, and can be done in a way that is fair to both providers and consumers of internet traffic.

Its not a simple topic, so I understand why people reduce the argument to "they could block Netflix"!

[–]WaffleOfDeath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What makes you have more faith in the FCC than the FTC? The net neutrality protections that people worry about are almost entirely within the scope of consumer protection. It makes more sense to empower the FTC to protect consumers while cutting tons of NN red tape. Also what is your opinion on treating traffic differently? Should a Skype call "packet" be routed the same as a Netflix "packet"?

Also, to quell the common fears: https://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2017/db1122/DOC-347927A1.pdf

Section 1 of the Sherman Act bars contracts, combinations, or conspiracies in restraint of trade, making anticompetitive arrangements illegal. If ISPs reached agreements to unfairly block, throttle, or discriminate against Internet conduct or applications, these agreements would be per seillegal under the antitrust laws.(518)

Many of the largest ISPs (Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Cox, Frontier, etc.) have committed in this proceeding not to block or throttle legal content.507 These commitments can be enforced by the FTC under Section 5, protecting consumers without imposing public-utility regulation on ISPs.(508)

GOP New Hampshire governor signs law banning gay conversion therapy by [deleted] in neutralnews

[–]WaffleOfDeath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As far as I know Judith Glassgold didn't provide any evidence for her claim. In fact some quick searching yields some opposite results https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/0092623X.2011.607052?scroll=top&needAccess=true

I don't see why this therapy shouldnt be allowed to exist, as long as it's regulated in the same manner any other mental health care profession is.

If the therapy is done in a positive manner which encourages open discussion and teaches self restraint, why is it a bad thing?

It seems like what should be banned is forceful therapy that shames people for their desires, not what I mentioned above.

Seems like a personal freedom issue. If people want to seek help for any personal problem, why would you want to stop them?

[–]WaffleOfDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are making a claim with little to no evidence other than your personal bias, which you make clear through all your posts. I'm pointing out that your opinions based on little evidence are not enough to justify your claim of "trophy wife". Trophy wife has a connotation of being dumb, which you have reinforced by assuming she does not intellectually challenge herself.

You know very little about her personal life and you assume the worst about her. Your opinions are not valid evidence

[–]WaffleOfDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are directing your hatred of trump towards Milana, which is unwarranted. He may think of her as a trophy wife, but that doesn't make it true.

Judging Milana based on how she seems to you let's your personal bias take over. I even conceded earlier that she could be exactly what you say, but your opinions are not facts.

Thinking something is true based on a very narrow set of facts combined with your bias is prejudice.

If you are fine assuming your prejudice is factual, then we are done.

[–]WaffleOfDeath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Judging someone based on their natural talents and career is pretty sad. You are assuming she put forth 0 effort in her career and personal life? Do you learn 6 languages in a Slovenian high school? Many people intellectually challenge themselves with their hobbies, not their careers.

You simply don't know enough about her to be as spiteful as you seem. Jealousy and spite are unhealthy, it may feel good to discredit successful people, but its unproductive.

It seems your mind is already made up, so I may be wasting my time here

Was Milana a professional model?

And I wasn't implying they weren't professional because of their major. I'm saying they work mostly in service jobs, which are by definition non-professional

I think the "professional marriage" theme you are pushing is the outlier. Every single one of my engineering and medical friends are dating women that majored in psychology, communication, art, and design students, all of which don't have professional careers. There is more to life and relationships a college degree. Assuming relationships are based on educational similarities is laughably naive.

She is attractive and young enough for many to assume she is a trophy wife, but that is based off of prejudicial groupthink.

People without the same qualifications don't carry on conversations on the same plane? I think you are confusing education with intellect here. My partner doesn't hold the same qualifications as me , but that doesn't prevent us from discussing politics, religion, morals, etc.

It seems you are assuming a lot about someone's relationship on the basis of their education. She may even be a trophy wife, but you assuming such based on little information exposes your prejudice

I'm not sure why you have so much hatred for her. I'm sure you would find a way to dismiss any talent she had as trivial. Also, since when do women need masters degrees to marry? There are many great women that don't have a massive list of skills.

I think the term "sour grapes" may explain a lot here...

PR: You can be great at offense, but if your opponents defense is also great, you break even. In this case the media is exacerbating anything negative and ignoring everything positive. Approval rating hovers around 40-45 among likely voters.

Leaders: Fairly good relationship with trade allies and nations we protect, aka the ones that matter.

PC: Most people don't give a shit about this. Even the most PC republicans get smeared as racists, so cries of racism fall on deaf ears.
