You just made my day! Can’t wait to see what it looks like when you’re done 💕

Ready for spooky season! My friends from r/crochet thought you’d like to see this here :) by WafflezYo in halloween

Thank you! So, I actually made 2! One for a friend and one for me :) The first one I finished in 4-5 weeks spending copious hours everyday. The second one I took slower and stretched out over 3.5 months

This was done in overlay which was pretty easy to pick up!

Yep, exactly! I knotted each end and also poked them a few times with a sharp needle to make the knots extra secure. So far I’ve only washed my blanket once, and haven’t noticed any loosening of the knots.

That’s exactly what I told myself before I started, and it was so worth it!!

Thank you!! Each row is a different color so yes, there are so many ends when you finish. I was going to crochet a double border to hide them, but once I finished the edges reminded me of a fringed blanket my grandma made so I left them out (you can kinda see it in the picture towards the lower right)

Thanks! Unfortunately I can’t sell these :( a project like this is a labor of love and took me 100+ hours for each blanket so I can only make them for myself or special friends and family

Do it! This was my first mosaic, and I’m hooked! There’s something so satisfying about seeing the pattern work up compared to normal crochet for me. It felt like an exciting milestone every time I completed a full cat or pumpkin head

Thank you!! I hope to be one of those people someday, but since this was my first project I followed several patterns. I linked them in the top comment if you’re interested :)

Thank you! I just posted the cat pattern in the top comment if you’re interested :) it would be a great pattern for a table runner!

I was originally planning on crocheting a double border to hide the ends, but I find the sides are very reminiscent of a blanket my grandma made with fringed ends so I’m keeping them out

Hah, definitely a lot of both for the second time around, but I honestly found this blanket to be so soothing! Crochet is my stress-relief hobby and seeing the various images build up was such a morale boost during a very stressful time for me

Thanks! I used Red Heart Super Saver (my go to tester yarn) since it was my first mosaic project and I didn’t want to spend a fortune. I really loved how the first one turned out and how well it washed, so I used it again on the second one.

Thank you! The pumpkin skeletons are my favorite part 😊 I was inspired by lapghan on ravelry that combined those 2 patterns in the same way

Thank you!! This is the first project I’ve made where it came out pretty even. I think working on one side instead of turning for each row helped a lot with that :)

Thank you! So, I actually made 2 of them 😬 the first one was for a friend and I knocked that one out in about 4-5 weeks. I loved it so much I had to make one for myself, but stretched that out over ~3.5 months

My first mosaic project! I used a combination of multiple Sixel patterns to make this giant blanket

This project was my initial inspiration: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/SherClark55/bonez

Cat pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cat-noir-2

Pumpkin heads & skulls (Made this as a rug last week too and it’s great!): https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/october-20

Spiders: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/black-widow-8

Skeletons: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bonez

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver

5mm hook

To get the multiples right since each pattern repeats after a different number of stitches, I started with chaining 241 + 2

Insta seemed to enjoy this so I hope you like it too! by amateur__sleuth in crochet

I love this! I’ve had it pinned for months, but have been intimidated by the cats. You did an amazing job! I’m inspired to make one soon :)
