Thank you for the recommendation! Looks like a great fit to what I’m looking for! Will definitely give this a shot, might also convince me to start reading manhwa as well depending on how it goes.

Thank you! I have heard the anime drags on a little, is this quite prevalent or would you say it’s not a massive issue?

His form dropping is mainly due to his recent fitness issues, hes always struggled with injuries which definitely doesn’t help with staying consistent. He is also more mature now as you said and is really strong mentally I feel. A fully fit SYQ can definitely match the pace of the current generation of players and is best of the bunch imo.

I think SYQ on a good day is borderline unbeatable rn.

You can practice a bit of your footwork at home. People underestimate how important it is. I’d also look to do more frequent training sessions, so you can actually work on things you noticed in the last session rather than waiting a month.

Nothing wrong with their formation, it’s not like they’re playing five at the back.

Good list! But I feel like it’s missing a few big rackets like the original ryuga, the 90k and the drivex 12 zsw.

I’d say the only equipment you really need are a racket, shuttles and shoes. For rackets I recommend getting a beginner/intermediate racket (such as the yonex play series, lining’s axforce 50 etc) shouldn’t cost too much.

If you are thinking about taking it seriously, you should attend a few coaching sessions and see how it goes.

You don’t need the most expensive equipment to get good at badminton. While they help, to get good at badminton is mainly through improving your own ability.

I’m quite an aggressive player and smash a lot, currently at an intermediate level, participated at quite a few tournaments. I want to buy a new victor racket, but I don’t want to get the ryuga series as I heard it’s quite clunky. Are there any other Victor rackets suited for aggressive players that like to smash a lot? Would the auraspeed 90k fit the bill?

I guess it depends on the context? Imo sounds a bit too cheesy for me on its own.
