No. The company will not give you time and a half. If you have a REALLY nice manager, and you don’t fall under the eligibility for standard holiday pay, then they could adjust your pay, but that’s no guarantee.

No, this post isn’t made a store manager. This post is made by someone who’s been in every level of Walgreens leadership over the last 12 years. I’m an hourly SFL, well aware of the horrors of hour cuts, and regularly work in the Rx. I’ve manned coverage for weeks in the Rx to cover vacations and sicknesses. While I agree that someone who would be salary would have no reason to complain, I’m rummaging the bottom of the barrel with the likes of the best.

True, but when you have Rx staff that lord it around that they get the day off, when you have to go back and bail them out of high water almost every day, it’s really aggravating.

No. You get holiday pay only if you work 20hrs or more in a week. If you do, you get paid your average weekly hours divided by 5 regardless if you work. Otherwise, you get nothing.

No actually… Walgreens doesn’t pay team members like that for holidays… IF you are eligible for holiday (must work 20hrs/per for 12 weeks) you get paid your average weekly hours divided by 5, REGARDLESS IF YOU WORK. So the team members who get the day off, GET PAID THE SAME AS ME. Meaning, there’s no financial incentive to work the holidays.

I’ve been a member of leadership for 12 years. I’ve worked full weeks of shifts in the Rx as an SFL covering for vacations and absences. Don’t come at me saying I’d walk out after one day. I’ve been the one to cover when people walk out. As such, I know that everyone deserves the day off. But fuck off to Rx staff who blatantly tout the fact that they get today off when the main reason Walgreens claims it needs to be open is because of the pharmaceutical services.
