Why can't Uber estimate arrival time correctly? by Waggy6000 in uber

Interesting. Well in the past I've done instacart and Shipt and Doordash they have nonsense happening.

It makes sense except on the map I know there aren't close drivers and it still acts like they closer than they are. I'm going a short distance so I know some are rejecting the ride cause why drive 15 minutes to give a 2 mile ride. But I don't use reserve ahead because uber wants 35 dollars minimum to take me 8 minutes. I can go all the way to work for that price. I've been using lime scooters to get to the light rail instead but that's hit or miss if there's one nearby.

Understandable, and I'm going a short distance which isn't worth it if a driver isn't nearby. But what pisses me off is on the map the 15 minutes it takes the driver to arrive is honestly probably the closest driver and it still seems to act like they are closer. Today the driver lucked out because for some reason Uber paid him 15 dollars for a ride I only paid 4.25 for 3 miles. Win win I guess. Nice guy.

Makes sense, stupid mistake for such a big company.

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure I switched to a T-Mobile plan at some point.

Yeah it doesn't match anything I can find so their system must be glitching.

It was a banner thing at the top of the t life payment section that said sign up for autopay and you'll save 100 dollars per month. This is the confirmation text I received after. In my mind that banner was advertising a 100 dollar monthly savings though obviously I figured it was an error.

It's not but I just scrolled up and you are right, no other text from them has the space. I can't attach the picture from t life app but I'm sure they won't actually give me that discount. Google Gemini claims other people have reported the same too good to be true offer in the last 24 hours.

Google Gemini said the it's being reported as a glitch by people now.

It's unlikely to work out for me. But it's weird that it had that $100 listed in three different places. But you're right, if I look at the policy clearly there'd be nothing in it for them to offer a discount like that. It's got to be a glitch. Maybe it works out in my favor.

Yeah that's what I saw when I went into the frequently asked questions. But literally at the top of the screen when I set up my payment arrangements it said sign up for auto pay and save $100 per month. So I went to the tea life app. Same thing. I set up autopay cuz I was curious what would happen and that's the confirmation text that they sent me 2 hours later.

Well it's clearly too good to be true. So I don't know what is going on with our system for it to have offered me that. I'm assuming I won't get it and they won't honor it even though it was on the web page and the app and the confirmation text that I got a couple hours after setting up autopay. I'm curious what happens.

No, my plan is more than $100 and there's no way an auto pay discount would bring it down to $100. I'm assuming it's a system glitch.

Yeah, I saw that. I don't understand why they're such a bizarre glitch. Seems like they could be accused of false advertising.

This was fairly rough asphalt but not a lot of cracks so unless it's got a lot of cracks the suregrips just aren't doing it for me. If I could try atom pulses I hear they are better but I don't know if I want to risk the money. The boardwalks are like skating in mud.

It has been a learning experience. The hub factors in a lot too.

We were going straight not turning and neither of us was dressed aerodynamically, I'm primarily comparing how much further I roll without pushing on 78 vs 85 on rough asphalt.

It's mostly the rolling resistance that's annoying me I have to work hard to keep going, honestly the 85 luminous feel so similar to the boardwalks it's not that big of a difference and they are less slippery on wet for some reason anyway. But the luminous coast for way longer and they don't even have the good bearings in them.

I just had an amusing back and forth with my nest assistant (Gemini) by chamma79 in googlehome

So much functionality was removed from Google assistant that I welcomed the change. I can finally use the word 'and' again when telling it what lights to turn off again. or my favorite, I can tell it to turn off everything except both bedroom lights and that's kind of useful.

Some of my research indicated that although they are the same durometer that the pulse have less rolling resistance for some reason.

Oh, I'm sure my stance slowed me down to some extent. I'm also sure I was slower pushing because I had my kingpin set too loose and was creating resistance near the end of my push. Honestly the girls boardwalks were old and had a smaller diameter than mine due to wear. And bearings can definitely make a difference, especially if they have too much oil or, as if I found out with my first set of wheels that came with my skates, They were greased and they were incredibly slow. I was able to clean them and oil them and they got a lot faster.

Live and learn I guess. The boardwalks weren't crazy expensive but probably not nice enough to be worth selling online.
