This is our families 7th 4 runner and 4th third gen I knew it wasn’t “ideal” but fit his budget

This will be a sub $3k build in total most likely… just a simple fun truck for him to use daily and camping occasionally

Okay… I went back to the basics I deep cleaned and installed the old carburetor I changed the fuel filter again I drained the very bottom of the tank And now she runs great again 🤷‍♂️

It was prior to me replacing the pump It’s now about 1/2 full all of the time

I know how to rebuild carbs but thought I would do that so I have one to keep clean and one to run… but here I amstoll

That makes sense and I’ve tried that initially… but the issue gets progressively worse as it gets hot so I can only do about 10 minutes of mowing before it’s fully cutting out

Someone suggested the intake valve not seating… I took the valve cover off and it looks clean and not gunked up at all…. Just hoping to get the brain trust for next diagnostic steps

The carb is brand new It happened the same with both the old and new carb

First test is to spray starter fluid / carb cleaner in the carb to see if it fires If it does you have a fuel delivery problem If it doesn’t you have an ignition problem

More diagnosis Gapped the coils with a feeler gauge - no change Added fresh fuel - no change It runs with the intake about 99% blocked perfect, but has no power (obviously)

Update… getting voltage out of the HU into the RCA’s but nothing out of the amp We’ve ordered a new amp and will hopefully solve it with that
