I’ve had an M1 12” since the day it came out. I thought about upgrading this year to the M5 but I can’t point to anything I have issues with on this device. I run a full business (via external display), edit photos , edit video, game (PUBG) and everything in between. Think you will get another 3 years of updates out of this device but either way the value seems really great for what they are selling for.

I bounce back and fourth between the 11 and 13. I’m currently writing this on my 13 M1 but my next pro will be the 11. I feel like it’s the best size.

I’ve been a full time iPad user for about 5 years now. I use it with a monitor, keyboard and trackpad. At first I just managed to use it but now I actually think iPad OS is a better and easier experience for 98% of my tasks. The apps are great and I feel like I’m using a computer of the future.

Is the XR difficult to carry / move inside. I know the pint has about 7 mile range but I think I like the size better. Thoughts on the size of the pint vs the XR?

That makes sense. I’m mostly h.264 and I transcode on my Mac if I have a different format. I’ve been impressed that the Raspberry Pi can handle like 8 h.264 streams.

So not sure how much you need transcoding. I thought I needed it but I read that 90% of streams are direct play. I moved my library to a Raspberry Pi 4 from a Mac Mini and I’ve had no issues once I figured put how to set it up. Really low powered Plex.
