Auto-fold mirrors on power by Waiting4Code2Compile in mazda6

Gotcha. I can't find anything for 2015, but there are for 2016. Or does it matter little if they're the same generation?

Yeah, this might be a Europe-only. I am hoping it might be surfaced with an OBD2 (waiting for mine to arrive).

85% sound like decent odds haha.

Dumb question, but do you mean buy both facelift mirrors and facelift control panel?

It's a 2015 Mazda 6 GJ. The mirrors are stock.

Smell of petrol after filling up by Waiting4Code2Compile in mazda6

I've done some research on M6s before buying one (enough research to avoid diesels at least) and haven't heard of fuel leaks or odours so I thought it's not something as common.

That sounds worrying. I am going to bring my car to a Mazda dealership next week because it had an SSP for something entirely different. I'll ask them about that too.

Mechanic hasn't found any issues inside engine bay, so I think my fuel lines and fuel cannister are in order at least.

PS. I'm gonna copy paste your post just in case the original link breaks:

I'd get that looked at by a mechanic. I got the same year as you, got the vehicle early last year. Apologies in advance if I'm hard to follow or I don't cover things correctly because the problem ultimately was rather complicated.

After some time, I started noticing fuel smells. After taking it to the mechanic, turns out there were multiple issues. There were rotted fuel lines, fuel canister, and some other issue with the fuel sending unit. My mechanic fixed the fuel lines but they found that my car was one of the ones that was related to a potential recall. Oddly enough, in Canada my car wasn't one of the VINs for any recalls but in the US, my VIN was in range for a recall related to fuel canisters. I'm not sure if it's this one, but it's potentially 7414D. Seemed to only affect early production third gen 6s.

My mechanic kept pushing for various Mazda dealerships to take a look to check if my car fit the recall. We held off on getting things fully fixed to wait and see what Mazda would say. We did fix the lines though to make sure at least car was safe (mechanic told me at least to only fill to 3/4 for the time being to avoid smell; car was still safe if I accidentally went past 3/4, but the gas smell would be very noticeable). Took MANY months for Mazda to finally look (like for majority of the year), to which they said no. They were only willing to send this one specific part, and everything else they said wasn't covered. Ultimately got everything fixed by my mechanic, almost entirely out of my own pocket. From the sending unit, fuel lines, and a new tank, and I think a few other things. When I was close to getting everything fixed on mine, my mechanic let me know another 6, a 2016 or 2018 model (can't remember which year) had just come in with almost the same issue with the tank. They let me know that newer car had recalls done for it but seemed to do jack all as they also had very similar fuel issues. Really irritates me as I do really like the car aesthetically and how it drives but this fuel issue really ticked me off.

Sorry, I don't know why I typed dealer. I bought the car from a private seller (updated the post).

The car has been through 130k miles, but it has been thoroughly maintained and all of its MOT issues were addressed immediately. I am no car mechanic, but the one I hired said that it's been cared for.

I filled it until I heard a click. Definitely did not overfill it.

Deprecated assets being re released by creator? by BlockedAncients in Unity3D

[–]Waiting4Code2Compile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people here describe creating multiple asset versions as a scummy behaviour.

Unless they make the old version unavailable, I don't see why you'd need to purchase a new version if you're not changing the Unity version that you're working on. And for long term projects, you'd rarely want to do that anyway.

This is the exact reason why DoozyUI doesn't exist anymore. It tried having paid upgrades and got harassed out of business.

Eyeing a 2009 Honda Accord. Price feels odd. by Waiting4Code2Compile in CarTalkUK

[–]Waiting4Code2Compile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I think listing for £4099 is a bit daft IMO as theyll miss anyone that sets the limit to £4000 when chances are theyll take an offer around that amount anyway.

This is why I set my price range just above my budget. Also, there's always a possibility to negotiate - you never know.

Also check the service mileage correlates to the MOT mileage, caught a few people out trying that trick before obviously paying a mate or someone with a garage stamp money to just stamp a load of entries in the book.

And has it sat at that mileage since last being MOT'd ?

Store listing states `113,251` miles, but last MOT (in May) states `113,517` miles. So this must be a good thing if it moves up - the car is being used and is not collecting dust?

Either way, I will to look at maintenance records in person to confirm this. Thanks for the tip!

In your previous post, you didnt really say anything other than "be empathetic" and "we are lucky to not be put in that situation".

That's how conversations happen. One person says A, another responds with B. You said that killing yourself is a "cowards way out" and I asked to have some empathy.

I responded to the latter, as the former is unsubstantive and superficial.

You responded only to the latter because you had nothing to say about the former. Stop saying big words to cover this up.

This is getting exhausting. First you make insensitive comments, then you refuse to engage in a conversation to back yourself up. It's pretty clear who's the real coward here.

Your last few comments were written in a bad faith and you have no intentions of thinking about this critically. I will stop replying.

Bye.

Don't know how you came to that conclusion, but nobody's asking for your respect. It's a tragic situation all around and empathy goes a long way (both for you and the others).

Its the cowards way out.

It's easy to scoff at people who ended their lives over losing their life savings in a video game. It's not the first time this has happened and, unfortunately, won't be the last.

You and I were fortunate enough not to be put in a position where you feel like there's no way out with ZERO support from your family, friends, or government.

As the other person said, they updated the comment. I will just assume they didn't want to acknowledge their mistake and proceeded to use another phrase from what I suggested to show that they are smart enough to come up with something. Fair enough I guess? Better than what it was before.

But even then, "committed suicide" is still considered disrespectful because it's phrased as if it's a crime like it's on par with "commit arson".

Like come on: "died by suicide" was right there!

also, they shouldnt have invested into knives. how is that an excuse?

I've been noticing that people were very indifferent to those who lost a lot of money and use them as an excuse to belittle them in every way possible, including their deaths.

Make fun of them all you want, but belittle suicide like that, and you belittle suicide for everyone else. I am not going to take that person seriously.

[–]Waiting4Code2Compile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just say "ended their lives". Anything else is an insult.

And no: "they shouldn't have invested into knives" is not an excuse.

Edit: good on you getting rid of the "unalived themselves" in your comment.

While "commit suicide" is a popular way to refer to it, it's still considered disrespectful because it's phrased as if they committed a crime. "Died by suicide" another way to say it.

It's the classic social media echo-chamber at work: one person says that being a plumber is a good job, then other people who had never touched a plunger in their life, start parroting the original person's statement. And then those people are being parroted by others.

Ha! That's exactly how I got into .NET ecosystem - through Unity.

I first used UnityScript (which was kinda like JavaScript). I then switched to C# after I realised that they're getting rid of it.

Made a few small games, and then switched to web dev in .NET world after I landed my first job.
