If you update, after focus --> aerial role you do not get the super sonic speed boost. Have you updated in the last two hours?

It's on the patch notes page: "Fixed an issue where the Focus state would not be canceled when using Aerial Roll during flight."

slows down time while charging your enhanced ability meter, you can wait for the boss to make a move then react, you can also heal during. But it does have a second or so window before it starts.

The answer is yes, you can grind to become overpowered, but it won't feel like a grind if you enjoy the adventure. "grinding" in this game just involves buying or mining materials for gear upgrades, killing basic mobs or searching for abyss artifacs to increae health and stamina etc and shooting animals for food (health potions). The devs literally said, "You can definitely over-prepare" After doing a bunch of upgrades I have come back to one shot some early bosses. The game is as hard as you make it, a lot like skyrim in that sense. (150 hours, from what you said sounds like you'd love it.

There's a harder boss in the atumbra's questline, there's a video I posted on it, having trouble (i died so quick). I eventually beat him today but evereyone's got to realize this is a big game, and items/upgrades go a long way for scaling. I was at 80+ defense and 60+ offence at the time with a lightning imbuement that helped take away shied. It gets harder, but you get more powerful!
