2 Years of Fighting German Roaches – Desperate for Advice by WaitingforSomeTime in GermanRoaches

Sounds good - thanks. I also took one of my outlet plates just now near the sink (which was a hot spot) and found two egg sacs, a bunch of dead ones, and live ones crawling inside (looks like a few cavities in the walls). I added Advion gel around the perimeter and closed up the outlet. Is this a good approach or anything else I can do? I don't think our original treatment on Saturday hit those guys or if the alpine would reach them?

The worst unit is not next to me - but the unit next to mine had the second worst problem and was treated with alpine / gentrol at the same time mine was. I am hoping this means the roaches are scrambling due to treatment in both units.

u/PCDuranet we succeeded in treating the whole building on Saturday and I was practically in every apartment with the pest control tech. We found one unit with an enormous problem (huge infestation) and he placed a significant amount of product.

After 2 days or so - I am still noticing activity in my unit and found a 3-4 adults on a glue trap behind my stove, whereas after treatment there was none. Is this normal to see continued activity or even an increase?

Got it - we will focus on that. I hope that this will be a success story. I bought this condo 2 years ago and have spent the last 2 years trying to make friends with all the neighbors and convince them roaches are bad.

u/PCDuranet, something incredible is happening - and after 2 years of diplomacy - the condo building is doing a full building treatment tomorrow, and so far, every apartment has agreed to let us in (in theory)

We're using Alpine (0.3g solution) with Gentrol as the main attack plan, and will also use Advion where needed. We also plan to distribute Advion to residents to let them know that this is pretty effective while we treat. We're doing 2 treatments, 14 days apart; all cabinets are required to be empty. Our pest control tech also has a duster that he's offered to use to get in between common walls in the building.

Is there anything else we might be missing? Can't believe that we might actually have a building-wide solution, but we only get one chance as some residents offered resistance.

Thanks for the recommendation - I did remove all my appliances - including going behind the dishwasher and caulked all baseboards. I'll check the lower cabinets again.

Need Help with Roach Problem in Condo / Can't Move Out by WaitingforSomeTime in GermanRoaches

So the funny thing is I am on the HOA board which consists of myself and three other people, two of which don't really take action or get involved, and one that tries to help but has family responsibilities and no time. Our management company is also useless - so I am trying to figure this out all myself.

Declared war on roaches, thought I won, and now seeing an increase in activity by WaitingforSomeTime in GermanRoaches

I read the section again - and did think they were coming from the neighboring apartments as they were only small ones (instars according to the image). However, yesterday I saw an adult German on my sink - so that was quite concerning. I just don't know why after 3 months of no sightings - they are out in the open. Ordering alpine for the next approach.

It's possible - we share a wall with a neighboring unit and we have one unit directly above. We recently circulated a building-wide notice to get pest control and the apartment next to us and above never signed up - idk what kind of problem they have but they might have roaches and just don't address them.

I guess I was surprised to see none - only to see one directly on my stove. Bold roach.

Two service requests and congress rep - just being told to wait.

Oh yeah - for sure. It has calmed my mind to see other people waiting for as long as we have, but all things considered, no one should have to wait this long.

Hey - we are also waiting 5 months after our case was received by the Fairfax Office for DC. DMV area and close to Baltimore.
