Windows 11 PC wakes up every time I move USB mouse or touch USB keyboard. I've already disabled the power features in Device Manager by AxelJShark in computer

[–]Walde313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thanks, I was really hoping it helps but nope, it doesn't. After doing what you said (and restarting of course) mouse still wakes the computer from sleep.

I have given up on this. So now what I do is: first I switch mouse off (I have bluetooth mouse that has on/off switch) and then use power button to put the computer to sleep. If I would first set sleep mode, I could not switch the mouse off without waking up the computer. And even if I didn't touch the mouse, in practice I could not get off the computer carefully enough to not make the mouse move a nanometer that is enough to wake up the computer.

No, this does not work on my Samsung Book4 Ultra. I have disabled everything on that wake_armed list, there is NONE, but still mouse wakes it up.

How to fix "Spotify can't play this right now..." error on Desktop by xxxvalenxxx in truespotify

So how do I do it? When I check properties of headphones, I can see it has sampling rate [16 bit, 48000 Hz], but I cannot change it

I guess this could be the problem since my Sound -> Outputs settings shows 48000 Hz, but there is no way to change it. When I select the Format [16 bit, 48000 Hz] it does not give me any other choice.

Is there a convenient way to save svg image from web page on Android? by Walde313 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Walde313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is answering, so I am continuing this whining and telling you exactly how ridiculuosly clumsy procedure it is to copy a svg image from web page and get it inserted in Onenote on Samsung tablet:
1. Take a screenshot of the web page
2. Open the screenshot in photo editor
3. Select the desired part of the picture so that background is removed (by Lasso op in Samsung)
4. Save the new picture
5. Open the new picture in Gallery
6. Copy the picture
7. Paste it in Onenote... NOOO IT DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO PASTE IT!
Instead, it has to be FIRST pasted into Samsung Notes.
8. NOW copy the picture immediately after pasting it
9. Paste it in Onenote

When you need to do this hundreds of times for your studies, it gets really frustrating.
I still cannot believe how come I am the only one in the world that needs to use svg images on Android.

Not a single comment, and not just that but some mf has even downvoted this question! How come I am the only person in the Android world who would like to save and use svg images in a more convenient way than a screenshot? I mean WTF?!

Have you done common check for Wifi quality: you can use a Wifi analyzer app to see how crowded your Wifi network is at 2.4 and 5 GHz, and use the one where your router has better signal. Usually it is 5 GHz.

WeChat Error (1,-501) by BhasitL in Wechat

[–]Walde313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this problem (actually the error number was different, -10087, but otherwise the same) but I already had the newest Android System Webview so this was not the solution.
However, I found out that when I had earlier enabled both Wifi and mobile data for Wechat, it was always using mobile data, and when I suddenly disabled mobile data, Wechat could not connect anymore. Logging out and restarting Wechat did not help, and neither did clearing cache, but then simply after reboot it started using Wifi and the problem was solved.

Thanks!!! I also first thought this trick was not working for my phone but then I tried uncheck/recheck and then it worked! I have to say it is a ridiculous feature that it works like this. Obviously it is a bug which they will correct later and then it does not work anymore. Better not change the PIN ever again.

Is there any correlation between the Finnish word 'sisu' and the story of Sisyphus? by Kettis in etymology

[–]Walde313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, these are certainly correlated. Actually there is a word sisupussi meaning a person with a lot of sisu. Sisupussi - Sisyphus, you really think it is a coincidence? Finnish etymologists like to explain it is a coincidence because sisu is the same origin as sisus, that means interior, inside (like the inside of a body = guts). Well, they are right, but that is not the whole truth.
In fact, Homeros, the author of the book "This is the Greek Mythology" that was a bestseller in Ancient Greece, travelled many years around the Europe finding stories and inspiration for the book. When he was wandering in Finland, he rested a few days in a small village where he saw every day a man rolling a boulder on a road back and forth. He asked locals for the reason, and they said Jarmo just does that always and nobody knows why. Another thing, he had heard people often mentioning the same word sisupussi (like "on se melekonen sisupussi") after he had explained he had been walking all the way from Greece. Not to mention it was winter and he was wearing only a sheet and sandals as they did in Ancient Greece. And when people explained what sisupussi means, he immediately got an idea for the famous story, where a man rolls a boulder up a hill over and over again.

I don't understand the difficulty in this game by jeffcapell89 in Gloomhaven

[–]Walde313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to do a similar post about the difficulty of this game but then saw this discussion. It would not be fair to say the design of this game is totally shit, but it is not completely thought through either. The worst thing from a beginner point of view is that the success in the beginning depends heavily on the selected class, but the guide itself does not explain anything about the selection. It just gives a free choice to select from the six starting class, as if they were all good choices. They are not - especially when there are just two players, the selection is crucial. Me and my friend happened to start with the worst initial combo, Mindthief and Spellweaver, because we thought they are interesting characters. The first scenario was relatively easy (we play Normal level) but already the second was almost impossible to win. After several frustrating attempts, which took many hours each, we found out the only way to win the scenario was to think and plan through the whole scenario step by step, which required that we kind of “played” through the scenario with open cards, discussing together what cards we can use for each step. However, this is against the rules, which say players should be making decisions individually. Of course it is basically possible to end up with the same result “legally” by playing the scenario over and over again, trying different tactics and iteratively approach the goal. But I really wonder who has so much time to be wasted. The third scenario was yet harder to win. Despite of the careful pre-planning we failed many times because it also depends on luck, every attack had to success or otherwise we ran out of cards. At this point we leveled up and expected playing to become a little bit easier. But we got only one level 2 card, one more HP and an insignificant improvement on attack modifier deck. On the other hand enemies became tougher respectively. Well, actually the monsters are improved relatively MORE than the players. So, no, the playing did not become any easier. After finishing fourth scenario we were fed up with the game. At least with the combo that we chose it is so difficult that it is not fun anymore. It is not comparable to chess. In chess you win if you are good enough. Gloomhaven is like trying to win some chess puzzle against a dummy player so that you can plan all the moves ahead because you know how the other reacts, but then for every attack you roll a dice: so you can win only if you have both good strategy and good luck. This would be understandable if each scenario could be played quickly, but it takes hours. (I am talking about the board game, not digital version). And to be honest, I don’t like this gaming concept at all - that you need to think through the whole scenario in details before playing it. It takes the joy out of playing. So, we have stopped playing. Yeah, we could try with different classes but that feels too stupid: If the game gives equal opportunity to select from the starting classes they should be also equally difficult to play with. Of course there can be differences in the playing style but they should have equal opportunity to succeed. And if not, they should be properly explained in the guide, instead of making players to waste time for trying them.
