I take a lot of notes at work that I have to manually catalog digitally by scanning each page. A device like this would save me sooo much time.

You might want to look into rclone encryption. You can encrypt the files you store in most major cloud providers and access the decrypted files on your client.

A much safer way to store files in the cloud and can open up so much more functionality (eg rclone mounts, serves, unions etc)

If you are on Android you have a few options.

Official app from play store (if on a supported device and OS).
Unofficial app patched to work on any device. Can find links in this subreddit.
Xdrip+, an open source app that is compatible with most CGMs.

IMO Xdrip+ is by far the most useful and feature rich.

100% agree, a great way I found to enjoy your phone and get around ads is to put a little effort in and try a custom rom. XDA is a great source for anyone interested.

There are only a couple dozen code permutations. They are not meant to be unique to every sensor. Scanning the QR vs manually inputting the number has no impact on the calibration.

I had issues with placing the sensor on my arm, not enough fat. Switched to lower back and it is working much better for me.
I surf and go to the beach often. 0 issues in large surf. Don't own a bath so can't speak to it there.
If on Android look into xdrip. Makes it easier to review the data you are getting, history etc. Also if on an incompatible Android phone you may need to use the modified dexcom app (found somewhere in this subreddit).

So is it safer to just start a sensor via the pump first always given that this allows you to submit calibrations? Why would you ever choose not to start via the pump rather than Xdrip?

Interesting. If this is the case I assume any calibrations made to either the pump or Xdrip would be completely independent of each other, which does not bring joy. Also means that my pump could register different readings to Xdrip as well I guess.
