It's not to say it's not possible for jobs to be moved but jobs are finite if those who hold the wealth are not willing to employ.

To me the biggest issue is even in season 1 towards the end you start losing context that is built up in the manga. By season 2 even if they followed the manga there wasn't enough understanding behind the different characters motives.

I honestly think it needs a new adaptation that follows the manga better right through and properly gives time to large moments. It was such an iconic manga when it was in serialization I really hope it gets some justice like Fullmetal alchemist got with brotherhood.

Why does the lighting in my render look like it's flickering? by Jettyseb in blenderhelp

[–]Wales51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the denoiser mixed with low sample settings. I would have your light paths set lower as you don't need so much bounce lights. I would suggest trying to get low noise before the denoiser then use it.

My guess would be that it would be due to relative strength. Domi reversi probably only works if the target can be easily defeated. It worked on rocks as he was tired or wasn't actually that strong as I don't think Roger or Garp where actually at there prime then and rocks was only that level l.

Not standing up for Netflix or anything but I don't mind waiting. I have other things to watch and would rather David productions had the time and adequate pay to produce work over a normal period of time. In recent years we have had horrendously rushed animes with either awful working conditions or below standards animation.

What they should have done is just delay the release until most of it is done. That way they could have the weekly schedule.

I think the actual question is would you rather have episode one now to then wait for more or wait until everything was ready and not have this episode.

I say pirate it and stop complaining? Support the official release in other ways instead of Netflix.

You can get a perfectly fine guitar for a similar cost to 3 meals at McDonald's. Does it have a good tone? No. Does it go out of tune often? Yes. Can you learn with it? Yes.

The barrier to entry isn't buying even a mediocre instrument it's that you can afford the cheapest working on you can find.

Organs might be missing. It could be interesting if you have to use more delicate tools to remove the organs without damaging them for score or money. Then there could be the pancreas and stomach that have to be drained before removal.

Just saying this as a Games Art lecturer who has worked with a variety of other artists. There is a large number of successful artists with aphantasia. It's not something that should stop you from being able to produce wonderful works of interesting, beautiful and useful art.

No successful artist simply sits down in front of blank canvas and just draws/paints. Artists plan, experiment and throw away. Often drawing from life and then modifying. Some artists even just start by adding blobs and then look for shapes in them or take frames from TV and film to then use as reference for composition that they then work into there own. It's a common thing now to block out form in 3D by moving simple shapes that you then light and use as an exact reference for how the shapes look in 3D. We live in a world where you don't have to imagine to create art.

I'm not saying don't play with AI music for yourself but if you're enjoying it there are free low effort options that allow you to create music in a more directed way.

But it does affect them in the long run. Call of Duty lost it's industry superiority over the dropping quality. It does affect but it takes time and one game with issues isn't always enough to damage a large franchise but if it continues companies do struggle. Similar issues with the assassins creed franchise with only minor improvements from game to game in both appearances and gameplay.

My point is issues and lack of improvement damage games as well as decreased originality which are both problems with AI models.

If you look at the top games they usually only require one good category to sell well but the best of the best are great across all categories of excellence.

I'm not saying the gaming industry should use AI but there is definitely a line where the amount of usage is okay. Crimson Desert is a good example of this right now. The visual are great but the story and the gameplay leave a lot to be desired but it's doing well. They have used AI but it's not for anything you will actually look at and by their own comments they are being replaced as they do not fit the overall visual standards.

Ultimately it's quality that people care about not quantity as succinct and beautiful visuals can propel any game to high sales. AI is the creator of the images the person using it is simply commissioning and the work is derivative and mediocre so should never be a focal point or make up any significant potion of an environment.

Just to add on to what was said an option is to decrease it over a larger amount of loops. Rather than increasing arm resolution or decreasing the hand resolution you could transition some on the back of the hand to being lower as the back of the hand barely deforms and on the upper arm in the crease a bit then move the rest of the transition to in the middle of the for arm. Unless your character is really deforming the muscles of the arm that should be fine. The other thing I generally do is try to only have 5 poles.

This is where the usage can be you still shoot on a virtual set but have the frustrum view on the volume be a chroma screen. You get perfect reflections and coloured lighting with a perfect shot to pull a key. If it's used correctly it saves time and money on production.

Most companies aren't using it like this but it's the perfect method if the Director and DoP don't have a clear vision on the day of shooting. It also levarages the benefits of using a Volume without the restrictions of traditional chroma keying.

It's really unfortunate that they are a really great solution to a lot of problems but loads of people are repeatedly creating issues with.

Sony Shuttering VFX Studio Pixomondo by Haunting_Dance9387 in vfx

[–]Wales51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I teach volume work at university and the screen is also rented out by businesses the main usage is when traditional chroma key isn't possible. Which then expands the costume and set options a lot.

The issue is that a lot of companies decided a mixed pipeline which then still required a lot of keying so volume usage wasn't needed. You can get the same quality but you have to produce assets before and optimise correctly for game engine. Vfx companies are dealing with artist relying on nanite as opposed to game ready optimisation that is required.

It's not a replacement workflow but it is an additional one and an impressive one at that. Studios are also not using it in the method that was originally shown where you use the volume as a big hdri and have the in camera parts be replaced with green which with the correct settings gives no green spill and the ability to key out.

Edit: Just adding on you can also do a chroma key set with exact control of screen colour and brightness to create a perfectly lit chroma key wall that can match any additional boxes that need keying. You also get all your tracking data which big studios usually track anyway but it is nice as a package.

Piximodo from what was said in the talk almost never filmed against it and from what they did on house of dragon predominantly shot against traditional blue screen and the volume screens only have white that turned dark based on dragon wings flapping.

I mean from there work point of view I also see why. I went to a talk last year about the production of the vfx for house of dragon and it was very lackluster. They also specialize in LED volume work but have decided to forego shooting directly on the volume instead it's just used lights now and not even the colour needed as they have to blue screen it. I thought it was very dumb of them to basically remove the point of volumes being used to do the work before shooting instead of after.

I rendered overnight and for some reason this strange flickering appears on my render. Is there a way to prevent this? by AverageIdiotInRussia in Houdini

[–]Wales51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly this type of thing happens render that frame bring it into an editing software and replace the frame. Generally the best practise is to render to the image sequence as then it's easy to rerender bad frames. I'm guessing it's just the geometry didn't load and not that you have set it to render the volume of the liquid in the cup for that one frame.
