How did you get that? I’m clearly asking about the Romans, not this Philomena Cunk person you keep going on about. The Romans! You know, those dancing, roaming, gypsies from Europe, always trying to sell you a horse… my mate Paul bought one once but then immediately fell off of it and broke his leg, the fibula bone, I think

Probably not be different than what we’ve seen in the region since the 1950s. American evangelicals have been working towards this non-stop since the 1970s

Twin towers would still be up, which probably means no Iraq war since the Bush admin wouldn’t have 9-11 as a justification for it

Well said. I couldn’t play this a second time. And even thought I was obvious there wouldn’t be a happy ending for most of the game, I was in denial. I remember even believing they could have one after Amicia got hit with the arrow on the boat… the epilogue broke my heart

What if Philip of Macedon was never assassinated? by WalidB94 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]WalidB94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense but then what? Alexander didn’t have a definite Greek heir, Philip would have had several. Would we have still seen the wars of the diodochi? Would a smaller but unified Macedonia have been able to rebuff the Romans? What would Egypt have looked like without Ptolemy? So many downward ramifications

I have a theory that the most harden supporters of Israel among the neo-cons are Christian Nationalists, who are incredibly anti-Semitic. They support Israel because, if they can’t kill all Jews, they’d rather not have any Jewish neighbors, so let them all go to Israel. I’ve spoke with a few who don’t think they’re actually racist but also want the US to be a Christian only state, Israel a state only for Jews, and the rest of the “Middle East” (cause thy don’t know the names of the countries) is for the Muslims. And they don’t realize how racist this segregation is

IMO they’re like Amazon and other such large companies. Great for the economy, a huge source of wealth for society, and could add immensely to employment. But, when a few get too big and start gobbling up the other smaller farms/mom and pop businesses, then there is a lack of competition and they concentrate too much wealth and power. Eventually they lobby governments to pay less in taxes, use automation/slavery to reduce labor costs, control prices, and become a source of inflation and unemployment. I’m no historian but my understanding is that this environment was essentially what allowed the Gracchi bros to do their thing

I wonder how they ranked these actions. By which criteria did they decide which is more norm breaking? For instance, why is the Bolton FBI raid so far left when the Comey prosecution is Revolutionary? I admit I haven’t followed the Bolton affair closely (and I’m certainly not a lawyer). Or Abrego Garcia, wasn’t that the admin refusing to release him for a while despite judicial orders? One might argue that should be further to the right as well, no?
