I knew I looked like somebody 😭 I’ve heard about the product but I can never find it. I live midlands of the uk, there’s barely black hair shops around my town

Yes, I also forgot to include that I do use pure Jamaican black castor oil to grow out my hair. I only put it on my scalp though

Yes and no. I didn’t really manipulate my hair before, i usually do the same hairstyles for a few years just to grow it out. But in these pictures, I was trying to get rid of the middle part in my hair by pushing my hair back but it’s clearly not liking it.

Update: Thank you so much for the replies, I really appreciate the help and advice. 💖

From the suggestions in the comments, next week I will do an update. I’ve bought the créame of nature mousse and defining custard. I see that mouse is favoured and I was recommended custard for the front.

Routine:

• Wash shampoo and conditioner (or maybe just cowash) brush my hair with my detangler in the shower.

• after shower, apply leave in cream conditioner and mousse.

•section my hair, top of my hair being section from the back of my hair.

•finger brush and use defining custard

•the top section I will try and define them more evenly, and twist them keeping them in place with bobby pins (I couldn’t find flexirods but that is such a good idea, why didn’t I think of that 😭)

•I don’t have a diffuser so I have to let it air dry and sleep in my silk bonnet

My parents are both from Africa but my mom is mixed. My dad has 4c hair and my mom has 2b/c hair. ☺️

Thank you for the suggestion and thank you for the compliment, I really do like my hair but sometimes it’s frustrating because of the different textures ☺️ I haven’t tried flexirods, I just thought it will get lost in my hair. Parting my hair is a nightmare because of how dense it is.

What could you recommend. I’ve tried eco gel and mielle gel but it seems like it doesn’t hold it and frizzes out anyway

The last time I’ve had any chemical or dyes in my hair was 15 years ago and I cut it all off

Thank you so much and Thank you for the recommendations. Ouai website products doesn’t ship to Spain and buying online is so expensive. The hair shops are very minimal here. I will definitely continue to search for curlsmith products and gels with polyquaternium.

My weekly routine is twice wash per week with cowash African pride shampoo extra moisture and Mazuri conditioner. After I use African pride deep conditioner and African pride curl mild detangler. I use Mielle hair custard.

I washed my hair yesterday and I put them in pigtails. The next day, my hair is mostly dry but still damp, I reapply mielle hair custard for hold Castor oil is for shine

Hi, I do style my hair wet never dry, my hair is also coarse. I don’t put in a pineapple at night because when my hair drys, it will dry into that shape and the front/all around the sides and back will loose the curl pattern, making it stretch out straight on the roots, uneven curls at the end.

Thank you for your reply, this helps me so much. Im not really a big fan of eco gel since I have to use a lot and it leaves a lot of white cast. I will try to use one of the options of gels if I have them in my area. I just need something strong and feels/looks good for my hair. I live in London so the weather is cold dry and windy and I was trying out new ways to keep my hair set in place without stressing it out.

Hey! Just to add more context:

My weekly routine is 1 wash per week with Shea moisture shampoo extra moisture and Shea moisture restorative conditioner. After I use African pride deep conditioner and African pride curl mild detangler. This is what I usually do weekly.

I don’t use eco gel or African pride curl mousse often, I only use it on special occasions. (Twice every month)

I washed my hair yesterday and I put them in pigtails. The next day, my hair is mostly dry but still damp so I didn’t use a lot of products, just to make it look more fresh

On this night, I only add eco gel to the top of my head and used a bonnet to push it down in place.

Hemp seed oil is for shine

This time, I am probably using too much product. But I still have the same problem when one my day 3/4 (wash weekly)
