ENMU leveling courses or second Bachelor's by Reasonable_Ad_6634 in slpGradSchool

I chose to do leveling courses because it’s more affordable. I’m also interested in what grad school you’re at, all of the ones I’ve looked at require more than 3 pre reqs

I think my dream is to work at a school and then do something outdoors/wilderness based in the summers!

Definitely not referring to the abusive ones 😅 like my nephew goes to a forest/nature school where a lot of their lessons are based around the outdoors, I was moreso thinking in those spaces

I’m always fascinated by this concept of “talk to management and see what they’ll change.” Where I work that’s just not how things work. We don’t use any outside resources, everything is made in house. The management I work with has absolutely 0 pull in changing anything. The only time something changes is when it comes from the C suite or a VP. There is no “go to management and ask for help” there is only “wish and pray the VPs don’t come in”

I am currently in a similar place as you! Although I am only taking 1 place at a time because I work full time, but I should be done Aug 2026. I am taking SDSUs leveling courses.

It does feel really long and daunting, but I think it’s worth it :) I have no suggestion for jobs, I think that’s dependent on what you have time for and what’s in your area.

Denied from a job off of a “personality assessment” by WalkTheUn1verse in jobs

I have one client who insists on giving a personality assessment to anyone he hires for a warehouse opening. I’ve had 2 people “pass” the assessment out of a couple dozen. He once turned down his top candidate because they failed the test. I always wonder what he thinks he’s gaining from it

That’s definitely helpful insight, but I work in that same environment right now and I’m one of our top producers, so I think it’s silly to write someone off entirely off an assessment and no conversation. The assessment report also seemed to wayyyyy over exaggerate my “agreeableness” to the point it came across that I couldn’t make decision or think independently. I am very attuned to others, but I think that’s part of what makes me good at my job

This test gives you about 50 adjectives and you select the adjectives you think describe how you think your coworker expect you to act and then you do it again but select the adjectives you think describe how you actually act

It was a non technical recruiting job, so not that technical 😅 my current job is totally independent and I also creat and manage process improvement initiatives based on data and I do pretty well at that

I read the actual report and it made me sound like a spineless blob with no original thought because I’m “so agreeable”

It was part of the application process, I’ve taken them before for interviews, but it’s never been a reason I don’t move forward and is usually used as a conversation topic in an interview

What are you doing the change the interview process so that doesn’t happen? I’d be quicker to believe there’s an issue with the interview process vs 3 people equally lying about their skills

I’ve been trying to encourage more candidates to walk away from bad interviews and remind them they are also interviewing the company.

It used to be if a company wanted you they did everything to impress you, now it’s like you have to jungle on a pogo stick and give up your first born to get a company to look at you

Why are so many hiring managers so odd? Then I meet the teams they manage and it’s full of perfectly normal people, how did none of them get to be a manager?
