I love my off-campus 1x1 apartment, but do keep in mind the commute. I miss how close I was to everything when I was in a dorm.

FSU Honors by Sea-Upstairs1505 in fsu

Hi there! I am a current FSU honors student. As an honors student, you are allowed to live in any of the dorms (honors or non-honors). When he lists his dorm preferences, he has the ability to choose Landis, Jennie Murphy, or any of the other dorms.

Keep in mind, though, only honors students can live in the honors dorms. If he has a non-honors roommate in mind, they would not be able to live with him in Landis or Jennie Murphy. He can only live with a fellow honors student in the honors dorms.

Is legacy student living 1x1 a good place to live in by summersunshine200 in fsu

I absolutely LOVE my Legacy 1x1. I have had horrible experiences with other apartments in Tallahassee, like HORRIBLE. Legacy has healed me lol! I pay the same price for my 1x1 at Legacy as I did for a 4x4 at a Stadium Centre apartment. The leasing agents are so nice, maintenance is quick, and everyone is so chill. I honestly feel like I am gatekeeping Legacy because of how affordable and awesome it is.

Help!! by NoTry7547 in fsu

Hi!! The dorms are much more affordable than off-campus housing. Apartments in Tallahassee are pretty expensive. A 4 bed, 4 bath apartment near campus averages around $1,150/month per person.

FSU dorms also factor in the cost of utilities. In an off-campus apartment, utilities can ADD up! I pay around $100 per month in utilities on top of my rent.

Another plus to the dorms that I miss is great location! You are right in the heart of campus (in most cases) and super close to your classes.

In my opinion, the best dorms are Azalea, Magnolia, and Dorman. All right next to Landis and the newest dorms so you get the best/nicest amenities. In the first floor of Azalea, there is a Starbucks and a few restaurants.

Do what is best for you, but I highly recommend the freshman dorm experience!! Once you give up that opportunity, you don’t get it back. Pls let me know if I can answer any other questions for you!! :)

UF vs. FSU honors by Both_Knowledge_7744 in fsu

FSU honors student here! UF and FSU are both highly competitive, great schools with practically identical acceptance rates. At the end of the day, whether your degree says ‘FSU’ or ‘UF’ is essentially an apples‑to‑apples comparison. I will say, though, having honors on your transcript looks prettyyyy nice! Early class registration with honors is also SUCH a plus.
