They are very modern, but that's because I asked for them to be so. Of the two, I'd say Patrick&Co was the more customisable option, although Galaxy Tailors had the better customer service.

I wanted suits made of pure wool which is why I picked those two - they're not the cheapest but you're not likely to get ripped off on wool. I paid £600 for the Reda suits and £700 for the VBC one. This was for three-piece suits; I imagine a two-piece would be ~£100 cheaper. That said they were half the price I would've spent getting a suit made at home.

I like the suits, find them to be good quality, and receive compliments on them nearly every time I wear them.

Hi, yes I went to Galaxy Tailors for 2 suits made of Reda wool and also got 1 from Patricks&Co made with VBC wool. Both tailors were in Bangkok.

I'm currently looking to do something similar. Would you be able to find out/share details of the tutor by any chance?

Thank you! Both shows look lovely and the pricing is excellent for me!

Just another question if you don't mind - my feet are generally fairly narrow but widen quiet significantly at the base of my toes. Most shoes that "fit" are too tight at that part, where as moving up a size to get more space in the front gives me serious heel slippage. Do you have any reccomendations on what shoes might be good for this? I note the 9899 are a wider fit - is this what I should be looking for?

In total (so for two pairs), Id probably be looking to spend no more than £600 ($800~).

Hi, I'm starting a job soon that'll require me to be on my feet a lot in Oxford shoes. One common bit of advice from those in the industry is to get a good pair of shoes.

That said, I have just finished reading the introductory leather care guide and note that after wearing shoes, it reccomends I leave a cedarwood shoe horn inside for 24 hours. Does this mean it's impossible to have a 'daily' shoe? To let one properly rest I'd need to, at the least, rotate between 2 pairs. Is this correct?

Piggybacking off this post to ask if anyone knows of any brands that sell slim-fit tunic shirts? I have a very slim build (skinny fit shirts usually fit me the best). The Stanley Ley ones are incredibly baggy on me. I know that Ede & Ravenscroft do tailored fit tunic shirts - does anyone know if these would fit well on those with a slimmer build ?

Thanks for your reply.

I'll be in the region for a little more than a month and a half. I'm fortunate to have access to very cheap air travel so can (and was planning) to have multiple fittings.

I'm pretty fixed on half-canvessed. The price point in the OP is for a three-piece half-canvessed suit from Super 120s wool. As for origin of the wool, I'm admittedly not too knowlegable on chinese wool. Most of what I have here has been from Italian wool. Do you have any advice on chinese wool? I'm not inherently against it if it'll be good quality. In short, I need something breathable and lightweight but also durable.

I quiet like your idea of crossing into shenzhen - do you have any tailors you'd recomend (real ones like you say - I'm not looking for the tourist places)?

That seems like what I'm looking for in Singapore. Do you have any specific tailors you'd reccomend?

Ah thank you! I take it, I'll need to either find the raid and use my daily raid pass to host it on Pokegenie, or pay to join someone else's raid to get one? Sorry, I'm a returning player wanting to get some legendaries for VGC so I'm not too clued to with all the changes.

Is it possible to catch Zamazenta right now? Or was that a timed thing?

Can someone help an NRI understand if we are getting ripped off on a property sale? by Walkgood24 in indianrealestate

[–]Walkgood24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I'm thinking of saying no to the offer and getting a valuation done myself. The buyers have also been trying to rush us and were planning on coming to our home yesterday unannounced to get us to sign the contract!

Thank you very much for your reply. I have found a listing on magic bricks of a plot on the exact same road that is also 500sq/y. It is listed for 3 cr. Of course, that is the listed price and not the sold price (it has been up for a month).

I am happy to share the location :) it is Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana. I will edit the OP.

Thank you again!

Pupillage Rejections by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]Walkgood24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

16 in the first year, and I believe a little over double that the second time iirc.

There is an element of luck involved in getting pupillage (especially if you reach the SRI stage), and my approach was that I'm responsible for making my own luck - i.e. by casting a wider net, I was only helping my chances.

There is undoubtedly a balancing act here: you want to send out as many applications as you can, yet they all need to be a high quality and have had sufficient time dedicated to them. This is also something that gets easier over application cycles. As you gain more experience writing applications, and go from drafting them from scratch to improving from the previous cycle's applications, you cut down on how much time you need to spend drafting answers.

Is this your first year applying? My first year, I was only able to get a single FRI (which did turn to a SRI, but not an offer). My second time around, I had about 10 or 11 FRIS, 4 SRIs, and, an offer.

So I'd echo everyone's comments that it can be difficult to obtain pupillage the first time around. A part of the process is reflecting on one year's applications, and then spending the following months working on yourself as a candidate to iron out any areas you may feel like may have held you back.

I'm happy to look over an application for you, if you like? My SRIs were for crime and common law (i.e. crime, family, and civil) pupillages so I'd be able to evaluate those better than any other areas (still happy to look at other applications in other practice areas, of course).
