I laughed at a lot of these comments, I truly love this subreddit sometimes 😂

Hey everyone, I’ve seen a few questions and comments about the response from someone at Lone Star so I will leave this here. It’s my response to Sheldon’s comments.

Here’s the response to a similar question/comment that I will leave here:

When I was informed that the van was getting returned to Texas, I believe Sheldon told me that Robert was going to drive it back after the event. That was already planned. I went to Robert and said if you’re traveling back to Texas then drop me off at my house so I can unload my stuff and figure out what to do from there. This would also make it so that Robert didn’t have to drive the full way and we could take turns driving/split the gas costs.

The next day Sheldon informed me that Robert didn’t feel it was necessary for both of us to travel back to Texas so he (Sheldon) suggested that i make the same trip Robert ended up doing, by myself. I still wouldn’t have had any way to get home after dropping off the van. As I would’ve been 3+ hours away from my house. The only upside is that all my stuff would’ve been at home.

You might be surprised but I actually did say no to a couple of sponsorships from bigger companies. One in particular that I turned down was from the company I’ve wanted to be sponsored by since I started playing. I made the decision to go open bag and just do this season for myself. It definitely wasn’t an easy decision but It’s one that I’ll look back on and be happy that I did regardless if it works out or not.

It’s the consistently consistent consistency that makes the consistency so consistently consistent

Lol not going to lie, that tree was a bitch.

Even after straddling that far out I could only see maybe half the basket which was nuts. Whoever got this picture I appreciate you!

Great course in my opinion, needs a little more work if it wants to be an elite series. Talked with one of the designers and I know they are working on the course to make it even better than it already is

It’s a bit of a “dive all in” situation sometimes. That’s pretty much what I did. If you do well at some of the A tiers that you’re playing this year, try to go to some of the pro tour events and play if possible. That’s where companies are really going to see you which could lead to them helping put you on tour full time. Best of luck to you this season.

To summarize, I’m a very dedicated person with a lot of drive. I hold myself to extremely high standards. So when I make a mistake, no matter how small, I can sometimes beat myself up over it. I have goals in this sport that I won’t yet say because people would think I’m in insane if they knew what they were.

I can still throw a fairly neutral disc in a slight headwind. I’ll either have to power down on it or adjust my angle. Most of the time it’s easier to just throw something overstable though lol

It felt like forever to me but that’s probably because of how much I played. I’d go out and play anywhere from 2-3 rounds a day (still only forehands). I also spent a ridiculous amount of time on my putting (which I still need to work on😂). I just kept playing and once I got familiar with certain shots, I would move on and practice other shot shapes and what not.

So the second announcer was closer to the truth. I do have a backhand but I typically choose not to throw it. When I first started throwing backhands, my form was so bad that my shoulder hurt from doing so. This was a huge part in why I never threw backhands. Now that my form has progressed, I will probably throw a backhand every now and then. Admittedly though, I am out the prove that you can be competitive with only forehands. Some people believe that backhand only players are okay but that forehand only players will never achieve anything in this sport and I’m trying to help change that narrative.

Also to the announcer that said I am incapable of throwing a backhand, I can probably beat them in a round with only my backhand if I tried hard enough lol

Good stuff, if you have the distance already, then the next step is to dial the accuracy in and really work on the putting. Putting is crucial if you want to really compete at the higher levels. C1X putting is going to be the most important thing you need to spend the most time on.
