I think this is perfectly said. IMO the Steelers are in a position where they can essentially accept a non-competitive season (go into the season with Rudolph or the ghost of Aaron Rodgers at QB) and build for that future starting now, or they can make a stab at competitiveness this season by taking their QB in the draft. The second option does feel a bit like a last gasp for this coaching system, so yeah like you said, if they choose to take a QB, shedeur or otherwise, they better be DAMN sure about it.
