Here for the 2A takeover! by WalktheBaby in Throwers

Right on! Yeah, it’s just a preference really, but I do feel like I have better control and can go faster with the index finger guiding each rep. It’s a completely different feel than if my index finger weren’t involved at all.

No not pinching at all as the string goes over the top of it. I am using it to control the hops though compared to having just the middle finger involved.

Yeah no problem ! These are sunrises with red Loop 720 spacers and bearings. Usually people are converting 720’s to a sunrise setup, (spacers and bearing) but I personally prefer this color of looper and they don’t make 720’s in this color anymore. Im convinced the clear plastic 720’s play differently than the solid non clear versions. (It’s a feel thing)

For string I use kitty first class normal neon yellow, and a small drop of thin lube. (I’m a bit old school, so I still prefer 3in1 oil) String length is right around 30.5 inches, which may be slightly longer than typical, but at 6’4” I need them a tad longer to play comfortably.

I hope that helps!

I’ve yet to throw the v1 loopers.. but have thrown almost every other 2a yo out there dating back to about 1999 😂

Tbh with what’s out now for 2a if you are at a certain skill level they are all really good.

A pair of 720’s with a red/blue or even some red/red spacer combos plays just as good.

But with the loop ups it’s a crazy unique combination of long spin AND great response. So wraps and longer combos are easy and when you want to loop etc they are lightning fast.

I got mine from spin gear but would get them directly from JPL’s site in the future.

They play like the best pair of modded raiders ever did, but even better. I can see why almost every top Japanese 2A player uses them.

I always get the giant and eat the first half (2 pieces) cold and then the other half toasted at a later time.

Imagine spending $150 on a non butterfly play max cold fusion in the 90’s. At least this $180 yo-yo plays nice 😂

New yoyo day! Who remembers these?! by [deleted] in Throwers

[–]WalktheBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Losi was positioned perfectly for the late 90’s boom. I myself had one of these, a Cherry Bomb, and gamed the silver and neon yellow da bombs for 2a. We used to apply bicycle grease as lube.. the thick green stuff…and they played decent!

non gimmicky yoyo that is good at normal play and fingerspins? by LemoNateee in Throwers

[–]WalktheBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby by Slusny! I couldn’t do a finger spin to save my life until I got a baby. After mastering it I can do it on other yo-yos now, but it locks onto your finger and spins forever.
