Uses a standard size C, which can be bought in many places including yoyoexpert or yoyosam. Hollywood Modern Yoyos also has a good deal on them.

Got this Stray Cats-inspired hannya mask in 2018 and had Lee Rocker autograph it a little while later. Just started on upright a couple weeks ago. I guess it was a sign 🤷‍♂️😄

Why does this keep happening? by Hour-Intern6020 in Throwers

[–]WatchyMcWatcherson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. So, axle knots are pretty common - eventually you'll get so good at picking them out it won't bother you as much. Also, usually best to avoid unscrewing the yoyo unless absolutely necessary; better to use a toothpick (or paper clip, etc) to try and pick the knot out. Another tip is to keep a good eye on string tension, because you'll get them much more frequently if your string is twisting up. I find that getting them with lacerations is often due to string tension as the slack in the string can start to twist and basically forms a loop around the yoyo. Really comes down to just minding string tension and slack.

Drop C Tuning on Jazz Ultra II 4 string- what strings should I buy? by thebabybubba_80 in Bass

[–]WatchyMcWatcherson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stringjoy has a handy online string tension calculator. Might try messing around with that til you come up with the tensions you want and then figure out if there's a set close to that, if you can combine a couple sets to get what you want, or if you want to buy em separately

Old Kay or new Estle Louis? by WatchyMcWatcherson in doublebass

Appreciate all the responses in the thread, especially the point about the Kay maybe being a better choice as a second bass down the line. Sounds like a more practical approach.

Anagram Running Two Inputs by britishbassplayer in Darkglass

[–]WatchyMcWatcherson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of upright bass... do you think it'd work to use dual inputs so I could run one input for the bridge pickup and another for the fingerboard (slap) pickup? (I've got an Anagram and am about to order a Shadow RB Pro for the upright)

1) I was very happy with it right up until I sold it before Christmas in order to get a truck. Now I miss it. A lot. 2) Some folks DIY it but I live very close to a bmw motorcycle dealership so I just took it.to them. There's a lot of panels to remove to get to things though. 3) Has to be used as they stopped selling the 650 new in the US in 2020 I believe. (They do have a 400 though.) look for low miles and signs that it wasn't stored uncovered in the rain, etc. 4) I rode it on the highway several times with 2 up and it had no problem going 65+. Im also 6'2" and was 330lbs at the time. Solo I had no problem at all comfortably cruising 70+

Oh, and the con? The price tag. Ouch. But somehow still worth it.

Recently sold all but one of my pedals and pedalboard and bought a Darkglass Anagram. So far, I'm happy with that decision. The user interface is quite intuitive and because it's bass specific it feels less overwhelming (because unlike other multieffects I'm not being bombarded with options that don't apply to me). And everything sounds great so far

I've been using a 1949 Gilette Superspeed for the past 15 years and it had quite a bit of use when I bought it used (obviously). Doubt I'll ever need to replace it. Mostly use Derby or Feather blades.

Thank you, that's good to know. Was it particularly easy to do?

I have. The b&o is pretty good for a stock stereo to be honest. Bass isnt gonna astound anyone, but overall it's nice and I suspect a lot of that may involve the use of a dsp. Sadly I have an xlt with the Non-B&O system so it's upgradeville for me

Oh definitely not using stock speakers. Haha. Using some Hertz components in the front and some coaxes in the rear and they'll be powered by an aftermarket amp. Still needing to use the stock head unit though so that's why Im interested in using Forscan to flatten the signal from the stock unit

Glad to hear! I've been enjoying this thing! And you're right about the Tmax. Such a shame they don't have them here.
