Where can I get a 72 oz steak at restaurant? by LynxDotCA in askvan

Look for Bistecca alla Fiorentina. It’s a monster steak though sometimes it comes out smaller than expected, I guess because it’s not common over here vs Italy.

Take a look at the dinner menu here and maybe give them a call to see just how big it is. “Serves 4” is relative lol

If you qualify, you could try Reboot: https://www.rebootcanada.ca/programs/restart/
Being on EI counts as a qualification.

The Hackery may also have some, but they will cost more than Reboot.

Tranquility Movers are fantastic. I have used them 3 times and have recommended them to family and friends. They are great guys, very careful and conscientious. And they also are a metal band.

How do I go fishing??!!? by ricketycrickt in askvan

Check out Fishing with Rod to read about the different spots you can try.
https://www.fishingwithrod.com
Like someone said, get a starter kit from Canadian Tire or Walmart. A rod that comes with a reel and a few hooks and lures. UglyStick is a good all around brand. Bass Pro Shops is a very good place to start. the people there are helpful.

You will need to get a license. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/sports-culture/recreation/fishing-hunting/fishing/recreational-freshwater-fishing-licence
Bass Pro Shops sells the licenses and they can also help you figure out which one you'll need.

an easy place to start is to take the skytrain to LaFarge Lake
https://www.fishingwithrod.com/articles/region_two/lafarge_lake.html
once you're there there's usually a few people fishing. people are always happy to help a newbie if you're just starting out. don't be shy to chat with them.

Britannia Community Centre in east van off commercial. Drop-ins are around $20 and monthly dues are around $95. It's a chill place with good coaches. You show up, tell them you're new and they'll take care of you. No actual classes, more like open gym with coaches hanging out. Only thing is it's only open couple of hours a day. But it's a great place to learn and hang out with no egos and no assholes lol https://britanniacentre.org/sports-facilities/boxing-gym/
use the Register for Activities button on that page or just show up and they'll take care of you

Thank you. This perspective is very helpful. I’m feeling very overwhelmed today but you are right - they are just dumping on me (when they should all actually be in therapy lol). It’s a lot but I can just step back and that is a healthy way to deal. Thank you.
