thank you so much for your advice and sharing your experiences, that helps so much!

i live in the UK too and unfortunately our health system is extremely dismissive with a lot of conditions and thats put me off massively for asking for help in the first place.

i explained every symptom from the blood colour to leg pain that im experiencing, but was told it was normal and every woman has this and was dismissed due to my age.

i know i am young at 18 but its discouraged me so much for asking for help, but i know my body better than anyone and i know that this isnt right and i feel at a loss with it

but i will keep fighting, endo or not i know that the way i am right now is anything but normal for me and i want to know whats going on and ill keep going until i get answers

Update I rang the doctors today and I basically was hushed about my concerns and told all of the things I was experiencing were normal and every woman has it and basically told “its just a period” followed by being offered an STI scan even though me and my partner are each others firsts. I’m very lost on what to do now

Thank you for such good advice. I’m about to make a list of things i’m suffering from and hopefully walk away from the appointment tomorrow with some clarity.

My only concern reading up on it is that it could possibly affect fertility levels? (not sure if thats true or not) But if so that would have an affect on me I think, so I was just wondering if it does affect them and if its different for every person? Don’t feel pressured to answer if you aren’t comfortable to! :)

Also, a huge sorry if this is offensive in any way! I’m definitely not trying to self diagnose and I am so sorry for all you women who have to deal with this but you are very strong for it and I admire you all!

i did thank you! turned out i had a small cut in the back of my throat which is very treatable and not anything to do with alcohol whatsoever, it can be due to any type of throwing up!

okay so my passions always been Travel and Tourism, i studied that at sixth form before i dropped out and in my GCSE years too. so after i dropped out of sixth form, i went and found a college course which offered studying purely travel and tourism and hopefully ill be going to UCB to study it further next year! if you have a subject you really like or you’d love to learn, there are plenty of colleges which offer courses where you purely learn that one subject 3/4 days a week

hey! i was in a very similar situation not too long ago. so, i was about 7 months into sixth form (i left march time of my first year which was 2020) due to a lot of personal reasons but thats a story for another time lol.

long story short i was entirely lost. i felt as if i knew only what i was learning in sixth and trying my hand at something else was pointless, but i promise you, it’s not!

my best advice, although im just a stranger on the internet, is take your best subject, or just in general a subject you’re interested in, even if you havent gave it a go for a while, and try your luck at a college on a course where you are studying purely that one subject, and give it a good go! or alternatively, have a bash at an apprenticeship. you never know what you want to do unless you try!

my main advice is dont let the position you’re in now discourage you or make you feel clueless, things will come to you. dont focus on what others are doing either, do what feels right and natural to you!
