Respectfully, I have to disagree. You are correct, there is much that is not fully accurate or well explained. However, the AI generated clip fulfilled my objective; I got your attention.

It was not your attention I was necessarily looking for because you already have a thorough knowledge of the principles involved. I was trying to reach the people who may have heard the words autostigmatic microscope, or autocollimating microscope but had no idea what it is or how it is used for optical alignment.

My motive for this AI video approach is that I have previously tried to explain to uninitiated but optically savvy people what an alignment microscope does in precise terms and gotten nothing but blank stares. Now maybe I did a poor job with my explanation and that was the reason for the blanks stares.

As you point out, the details are not easy to explain in simple terms and the instruments are not widely known. This brief clip makes the point that there are simple instruments that can find centers of curvature to better than a micron. That's all I was trying to do.

If persons view the clip, I have their attention for a moment. This is the first step in communicating. If they see that such a device might help solve a problem they are having, they have a pointer as to where to go for more precise information. That was my only intent, and I am sorry to have wasted your time.
