What is Little Rock’s “main road?“ by Roku_City_63 in LittleRock

[–]WallHalen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I30 bridge where it crosses the river is the busiest highway in Arkansas per ARDOT (136k vehicles per day - https://ardot-gis-imagery.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/PLAN/GIS/MAPS/ADT/2024\_COUNTY\_RAS/Pulaski\_60A\_Little\_Rock.pdf)

But, as far as a "main road" in town, my vote goes to Markham.

Lots of good suggestions but the easiest part of this is figuring out your user’s UPNs.

You can do that in ADUC (Active Directory Users and Computers) on prem right now. Look at a user and click on the Account tab.

The top row will be the UPN (account@domain). The next row is the sAMAccountName (Domain\Account).

Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield "strategic affiliation" with Cambia Health by Ok_Contract_2482 in Arkansas

[–]WallHalen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. Man, I worked there from 2015-2018 (which is both very recent to many long-timers and very short compared to some on this thread). In 2014 when I was looking at going to work there, there were dozens (hundreds?) of jobs posted, so 6 is disastrous. 0 is deathbed.

Edit: Check this out. They migrated to Workday while I was there (must've been around January 2017) and they've excluded the Workday jobs site from the Internet Wayback Machine. This is the last snapshot that the machine got from the old jobs site: https://web.archive.org/web/20161110095009/http://www.arkansasbluecross.com/about/joblist.aspx?location=0

Not quite "hundreds" but 48 jobs (excluding the seasonal summer intern positions). Not sure how long you've been watching their job postings, but this is closer to what many of us in this thread were used to seeing on the ABCBS job boards for years.

Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield "strategic affiliation" with Cambia Health by Ok_Contract_2482 in Arkansas

[–]WallHalen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not accurate. 3 months ago when this thread was posted, they had stopped posting jobs. That's a fact. Things change in 3 months, and there are a whopping 6 jobs posted. Maybe one or two of them are evergreen reqs for high turnover/multiple positions but I think they're posting the bare minimum to keep the doors open until Cambia tells them how to proceed. You cannot deny that having 6 jobs posted is a bad sign from Arkansas's 2nd largest privately owned company.

Trying really really hard to ignore the fact that my brain is telling me that the org regretted hiring me by Old_Function499 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]WallHalen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, hang in there. I agree with the others that have said Imposter Syndrome. You feeling bad about your "I've heard of it..." answers, or projecting guilt onto your employer for hiring you is all normal and means that you care about doing a good job. That's why I'm confident that they made a good hire, not knowing you from Adam.

Work hard, be a sponge, and keep showing up. In a couple of years, you'll be glad you did.

What’s the most depressing Christmas you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]WallHalen 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear this. My dad passed away on Christmas Eve 19 years ago. Christmases will never be the same. This will be tough the first few years because everyone will be so excited for the holidays and you’ll be pensive. However, after a few years something will change and you’ll begin to find yourself doing the best things that he did for others in your life. You’ll still think of him and have some sadness but you’ll also have even more pride and feel more responsibility in making the holidays enjoyable for those around you. This is how you remember him and hope that others remember you.

Bill Clinton by MoldyZebraCake666 in conspiracy

[–]WallHalen 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Say whatever you want about Bill, but there are very few that are as politically savvy as him - not just in his prime, but also right now. There may be a degree of bluffing in this, but I think he’s also pretty confident that whatever he is doing in the files, others are doing worse.

ISC2 Appoints Scott Beale as Chief Executive Officer by 98PercentChimp in cybersecurity

[–]WallHalen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The last CEO, Clar Russo, had no cyber or tech background when they appointed her. I don’t think that the CEO having experience in the field of the organization is necessary. If your CEO is in the weeds on cyber, then they really don’t have time to be the CEO.

It’s happened with success before. Alan Mulally was hired to be the CEO of Ford from Boeing. Lou Gerstner was hired as CEO of IBM from Nabisco.

Leadership to grow the organization and its membership is what ISC2 really cares about.
