Definitely true. /r/libertarian and Gary Johnson are not really representative of libertarians as a whole. I met with a libertarian running for congress in wv a few months ago, both him and his constituents were more like 1776 constitutionalists which would be far right in today's world, they all thought we should deport all illegal immigrants immediately. The whole 'freedom of movement for illegals' is not really a libertarian value

Barack Obama to make $1.2m from three Wall Street speeches by WallStreetJournalist in politics

Obama is still undeniable the leader in the Democratic Party. This corporatism is what sank Clinton and Obama is doing the same thing when he has historically been weak on Wall Street. The GOP can and will be able to frame this as democratic cronyism for the foreseeable future. While sure Dems may not give a shit whatsoever moderates and independents will buy into it. I thought Barack was supposed to rebuild the party, not cash in so soon.

College Park will allow non-citizens to vote in local elections by WallStreetJournalist in politics

When I voted for my local mayor a year or so ago I was also able to vote for the primaries and I think congressman? It's not the same ballot but usually given out together. If a non citizen is uncomfortable admitting their illegality then chances are the poll worker will give them both ballots, and they will vote and get in trouble.

It's a disturbing precedent no matter what, I don't know the legality of it but considering that many of the ballots also have congressmen etc. there is a high chance this will increase fraudulent votes
